Warm Garment is one of the basic need of all human beings, serving the purpose of warm in cold weather and also give the skin protection from a lot of disease which occurred due to the harsh cold . Also the conditions of environment are not the same for people living around globe, varying from extreme cold regions and hot areas. One type of Garment can’t serve the purpose of protection from every climate, keeping in view the comfort of wearer. Garment for hot climates is normally loose and light weight, allowing evaporation of sweat easily. While the Garment of cold weather is normally bulky and used in more than one layer But we made that bulky Garment light weight and which give the excellent thermal insulation and protection against wind …show more content…
For example, either the physical work is continuous or intermittent; the activity rate is low or high, etc. and ecological conditions like temperature, humidity, wind conditions, rain or snow fall expected, etc. The following material characteristics should be considered while determining the garment adequacy for any cold weather:
a) Thermal

The insulation value is mainly depends on thickness of material, the ability of garment to trap air and how dry the material is. The trapped air acts as a heat insulator.
1 Clo = 0.155 K-m²/W
b) Evaporative Resistance:
Moisture iº produced on skin by sweating. In hot climatic conditions, the sweat is evaporated releasing heat of body and causing a cooling effect. The heat loss due to evaporation is not required in cold; the key thing is to transfer the sweat from skin to outside through Garment. The condensed sweat is absorbed by the hydrophilic fibers in the material and transferred to the Garment surface where it evaporates. The permeability of garment expresses its ability to allow the passage of vaporized moisture through the material. The thermal insulation of clothing decreases by 30-50% if moisture transfer is not facilitated through the material.
c) Water Resistance: It refers to the ability of outer clothing shell to resist the liquid moisture from outer climate to enter the material. As discussed earlier, a decreased water entry in the garment will help to maintain the insulation value and ultimately the comfort of
If we take a look at the clothes in our wardrobe, we can see that most of them contain polyester, a cheap fiber that is very prominent in the textile industry. However, polyester, elastane and lycra are difficult
The strengths of the book come from its’ accessibility. The book is easy to follow and provides readers with a great deal of information about the production of mass-manufactured clothing. As well as brings awareness to its’ many issues which we inadvertently take part in when we purchase such products. The book is well written and thoroughly researched but does have its’ share of weaknesses.

Bulletproof clothing is the most interesting thing I have ever seen in my life. There is not really a problem of bulletproof clothing besides it is very expensive to make it. It is very expensive just because of the materials. The materials are spider-silk, vectran and Kevlar. The history of bulletproof has been worn for thousands of years. Even the medieval Europe worn body armor. By the 1500’s, they changed the development of cannons and guns. Bulletproof in the encyclopedia means the protection of bullets, knives and puncture wounds. They have made antiballistic protective clothing. The material of it is single layer or multilayer package. The bulletproof clothing basically looks like a very strong net.
The attire of the period had variants sometimes when it came to age, social class, economic position, and even job placement. These factors made a difference in style of clothing, style of sleeves, choice of fabric, and amount of fabric used in a garment. A rich woman might buy very expensive brocade for her dress where a poorer woman might simply buy a singular colored wool or cotton. When the war arrived, cotton and silk increased, making it harder to obtain (Mitchell 4). It was these fabrics; wool, silk, muslin, linen, etc., that made the weight of the whole outfit so heavy and awkward.
Over the years, work wear has improved in style and ingenuity as it has become more practical and comfortable. According to DuPont’s website, more people are demanding the comfort and practicality of loungewear and athletic wear in their professional wardrobe. However, the clothing required in many workplaces must meet certain safety requirements. Anton-Katzenbach (2013) says, “More than ever, work wear and protective wear has been inspired by outdoor wear and sportswear thus adding elasticity, moisture management, UV-protection and anti-odour properties to a stylish look.” She also pointed out that working clothes have come a long way in the last several years, but they are now being made tougher and more stretchable. At A+A 2013, the leading innovators showed off the construction of the sportswear. The companies are developing lighter clothes and making sustainability a topic of interest. Though fashion was the most featured aspect of the show, there were innovative textiles being shown, as well. United States based DuPont presented cutting-edge textiles for work wear and protective clothing. Nomex MHP fabrics are the latest achievement of DuPont. This material meets safety requirements and guidelines, is lightweight, and can be used in a variety of job sites that Family and Consumer Science students are often interested in.

The demand for cheap, fast and disposable clothing has emerged in the society and there is where technology is playing its biggest and the greatest role with the perfection by streamlining the design, manufacturing and consumption. Technology is the basic and foremost necessity for building the physical outline of fashion.

Fashion is an integrated part of people’s lives from a long time ago, both for men and women. Fashion has been developing over years and changing in such a short time in each period. The changing of fashion often create a new trend or recreate an old trend to be a new trend once again. People tend to fit their style constantly with the changing of the trend. However, fashion is a rapid industry which means people have to be very responsive to the newest and up to date trend and keep their eyes on it. To be able to do so, people must understand the fashion clothing and material which is related to trend. Also, people must have a good understanding of key elements in the clothing including the ability to focus on the

Fast fashion is a term used by fashion retailers to express that designs move from runway quickly in order to capture current fashion trends. Fast fashion clothing collections are based on the most recent fashion trends from both fall and spring fashion week. This fast fashion strategy is currently used by well-known brands such as H&M, Zara, Top shop and many other brands. Fast fashion allows consumers to take advantage of current clothing styles at a lower price because fast fashion trends are designed and manufactured quickly and cheaply. However convenient aspect of fast fashion has been leading to promote consumerism since clothing had become unfashionable and not wearable quickly. Also a lot of these garments are made of unsustainable fabrics, which is a huge threat to our ecosystem. Solution for problems in fast fashion is needed.
Clothing has always been an important part of society, with evidence from the earliest human civilizations. In history, climate, religion and political factors played a role in the fabrication, styling and even color of the garments that people wore. Today, the fashion industry is multi-faceted, and while climate and religion are still some factors in how we dress, there are many more influences in what we choose to wear. Time and time again, designers reference historical styles and push them into modern trends. Subcultures illustrate how a particular way of dressing can transform into a lifestyle. Ethnic fashion ties in with a specific culture’s values and beliefs. By looking at clothing in other societies around the world, as well as the many global subcultures, we can learn a lot about the depth and complexity of the members that make this world colorful and diverse.
