The world has finally been introduced to a weight loss solution that requires no crazy hours at the gym or intensive diet to see results. It’s been labeled as “the most exciting breakthrough in natural weight loss to date” by the American TV doctor and guru Dr. Oz (Gunnar). This development in weight loss is called Garcinia Cambogia, which is a small pumpkin shaped fruit that is found in Southeast Asia and has been clinically proven to inhibit the absorption of fat and “stop weight gain” (garciniacambogiarush.com). The promoters of Garcinia Cambogia say these pills will not only block fat cells within the body, and decrease belly fat, but they will also balance moods by increasing levels in Serotonin and manage Cortisol, the stress hormone. There may be no strong evidence that it works, but if it does, the benefits to many people would be substantial. The costs to people-in terms of potential physical harm-are low. So on balance, it’s the best to urge people to try it, the possible benefits outweigh the possible costs.” I believe it does in fact benefit people, not 100% of the time, but there are definitely many people who have generated hope from these “cures.” Promoting unproven treatments does bring both harm and good; however, the results are ultimately up to the person and their body. If a cure fails for someone, hopefully it makes them more determined to find a solution that will actually work for them and if they do then they did in fact find a miracle cure.
