Violence is the worst aspect of gang life because it keeps getting worse as gangs keep growing larger. Violent acts are the biggest reason society has a negative outlook on gang life. But young gang members don’t start out using violent acts to get attention but by simple crimes like shoplifting. Even though shoplifting is a crime that puts people in jail, it seems like an easy way for attention for young kids. Shoplifting is also a very addicting activity because it’s a rush for the people that do it.
It has always been a problem with gangs influencing kids to do the crime. The gangs try to embellish their lifestyle with the cars, clothes, and the women. The younger kids see the money and want to do the same things the gangs do. The violence of gangs spills over to the younger side as well. When young children start to see violence in a gang the image is always two things; death or jail.
It’s mostly black communities being affected by the police in 2014 and 2015 from Tray Martin all the way to Clarence Bell. Innocent black males in their teens doing absolutely nothing ,but being shot at and killed. These problems dehumanizes a person and makes them feel as if they are really unequal which isn’t what the U.S. was built upon. Social injustice is a big part of us as the people’s economy today without it there would be total chaos and anarchy running through the street’s. There are many ways to end police brutality but mainly
Gangs, along with the anarchy and disorder they cause, are throwing South Africa into an unending cycle of violence and retaliation, causing them to linger in the end of apartheid. There are many theories as to how this outbreak of gang violence began. Many think they formed during Africa’s last apartheid, where all the mixed races were concentrated into small cities (Warfare). Here, many of the youth thought of themselves as “defenders of their communities,” “armies of liberation,” and ‘frontline soldiers,” against the tyranny of the government (culture). Others turned to crime as a way to supply for their families, because the government was not providing them with the necessary benefits they deserved.
As time has gone on, the word gang has grown to be a word that many worry about when they hear it. It seems a “gang” has evolved from just being a group of people to a group of people that associate in criminal or other antisocial purpose. Street gangs have become the primary distributors of illegal drugs on the streets, Gang members smuggle and transport drugs within the country, and many use juveniles to do their “dirty work” due to the high risks of getting arrested. Juveniles do not receive a sentence a grown adult would in court; which leads to many gangs persuading juveniles into joining their “Family”. The discovery of many juveniles gang related tattoos does not come as a surprise due to the large amounts of street gangs in the street that pursue teenager’s to join their associations.
Due to this, they may be forced to run away from a depressing home life, at times they may be searching for a that one individual who can be like a father (Hess & Wrobleski, 2006). Gangs frequently create promises to provide absolute support as well be the family unit they lacked. These always promises draw a lot of desperate youth to the gang and for the young people with relatives they see no need of being in a gang. Additionally, the need for the young people to have a sense of protection mainly drives them to join gangs. Many societies with high reported cases of mob activities frequently see youths link with a bunch of criminals just for endurance.

For the culture of a gang, being relevant means a lot because that puts the gang in the spotlight and adds even more to the gangs reputation. When a gang is not relevant this can mean two things: one would be that the gang has lost confidence and is disbanded, and the second would be that the gang will become more violent, committing large scale acts of unlawful deeds ... ... middle of paper ... ...o take stress on individuals with a higher chance of breaking they resort to gangs to protect and strengthen them. The cons of being in a gang would be that you have to stay loyal to the gang, if they ask you to murder someone close to you because they got in the way or is part of another gang, can cause a role conflict. Breaking rules of the gang would get you either killed or beaten for a certain amount of time. Though gang life does have structure, it can easily overwhelm a new member.
