Gabi Rizea found is talent in carving wood around three years ago at the age of 42. By turning old tree stumps into impressive works of art he has save many from removal or destruction. Being a wood carver never came to Rizea’s mind until he got himself a new chainsaw and then stared carving on a block of wood in which he was trying to carve a face and succeeded in doing so. His first real gig was in local parks in his home town of Craiova, Romania, where he was able to work his magic on old tree stumps. Although he would make sketches of the design he wanted for his wooden sculptures the wood had other plans, because of rotting parts and deterioration he would have to change his design but this would in turn make for an even more impressive
It is a long-with-standing stereotype that Italians love to gamble. This is true. My great grandfather, Pasquale Giovannone, played the riskiest hand of cards when he immigrated to the United States as an illegal stowaway at the age of thirteen. He forged a life for himself amidst the ever-changing social and political shifts of the early nineteenth century. The legacy he left would later lead to the birth of my father, John Giovannone, in Northern New Jersey in 1962.
The Gamba, or viol da gamba, is a member of the viol family. The viol family includes treble, alto, tenor, small tenor and bass viols. The viol da gambas were often played as a part of polyphony because their nasally tones were not easy to dance to.
Zuzana Gruenberger was born in Kosice, Czechoslovakia on March 3, 1933. She was the youngest of three children and her most used nickname was Zuzi. Zuzana’s father's occupation was a tailor, and he worked where they lived. When the first Hungarian troops marched into Kosice, Zuzana was five years old. Soon after their arrival the Hungarian troops began to enforce anti-Jewish laws; these laws were said to be welcomed by the Hungarian government.
Sara Salkahazi was born on the 11th of May 1899 in Kassa (an area now part of Slovakia) in Austria. A camp focused on not only torture but death. something so permanent, so final. thousands of prisoners thrown in this camp every day just to be killed (about 800,000). With no rhyme or reason, besides the thought of the jews being completely worthless and not even deserving of living on this earth and breathing the air. The logic in this time is completely lost, they jews were treated no better than dirt under the guards shoes. On a list of the nine worst concentration camps Treblinka is the second. ( the first being the worst.) This camp in particular has gas chambers made to look like showers. even including shower faucets and tile. With pipes running across the ceiling which of course was designed to appear as pipes for the water when in reality the pipes were filled with carbon monoxide gas ( a deadly gas). When the prisoners piled in they were gassed to death. The guards often referred to the tunnels to the chambers as “ the road to heaven”. The other prisoners were sometimes just machine gunned or even “spilled onto the railroad platform”
Hi, my name is Ella Giovanna Oliva Tambussi. I was born in a small town in Connecticut called Windsor Locks on May 10, 1919. My dad is Giacomo (James) Tambussi, he is originally from Perledo, Italy. My mom is Natalina (Maria) (Oliva) Tambussi, she is originally from Voghera, Italy. Like many other Italians, they immigrated to the United States several decades after the civil war. They both departed from Genoa and arrived at Ellis island (my dad first, then my mom two years later), they then met up with some family and friends in Connecticut who had preceded them. My parents got married in 1911. They had limited

Banda El Recodo has been a successful, revolving door of Mexican musicians since 1938. They also have ties to Los Zetas drug cartel. Across the border, we have Donald Trump. Trump is a wealthy business mogul who's now running for president of the U.S. Seeing as he wants to build a wall separating the U.S from Mexico and stopping the flow of drugs (and immigrants) into the U.S, we might have a new war on our hands.
Elba Velez have been relying on government assistance growing up. Because she is a minor her parents are have been receiving cash assistance for her and her 1st child. When Elba got pregnant with her second child, she was told that New Jersey’s child exclusion law prohibits a mother on welfare in receiving additional cash assistance if she gives birth to more children. The law also requires that there be a ten-month period from the birth of the first child till that the second child. Despite Elba’s effort, she has also failed to provide the full name of the father’s name. Therefore Elba cannot receive any cash assistance for herself or her first child, she failed to comply with child support enforcement requirements. She also cannot receive
Over the years, many scientists and archeologists have traveled the world in search of more clues about our past. Among those found was the preserved mummy of a Neolithic man buried in ice. Otzi, a name the mummy earned from the Otztal Alps where he was unearthed, was dated to have lived over 5300 years ago. From the moment of discovery, the Iceman served as a subject of study that pushed back much of what we predicted the human timeline to be. This included the copper age, agriculture, as well as complex crafting of clothing and utilities. Until more recent studies were done it was assumed that Otzi had died at the hands of natural causes such as freezing in a storm. This, however, was proven wrong when further investigation shows that Otzi had died of a more aggressive cause of death. So why was Otzi killed on the high mountain tops of the Otztal Alps? My goal in this paper is to prove why the Iceman was murdered all those years ago.
"My life has helped me realize and understand the power of people. When we pull together we can make anything happen even world peace. We are all connected, our lives overlap, our stories are intertwined, and our fates are shared." Maja Kazazic.
Around the world, people have been searching for and experimenting with different ways to express themselves. One of the most diverse ways takes place in the form of art. Art is comprised of many different categories and sub-categories, but all of them sending the same message: expression. As long as a piece is created from emotion, beliefs, and influence, it can be considered “art”. One of the forms of art that takes on a 3-dimensional affect is the sculpture. Sculptures are one of the earliest forms of art, right next to its 2-dimensional “cousin”, Drawings. Two specific sculptures that take place in the B.C. era are “Memi&Sabu” and “Statue of Gudea”.
The Sazerac, is the extremely symbolic drink that has is original start in New Orleans and has a rich history; can be argued as one of America's first cocktail originally made in the 18th century. The cocktail originated as an alcohol beverage, composed of spirits of any kind, sugar, water, and bitters. One of the first forum of the Sazerac cocktail was an alcohol beverage made from Sazerac de forge cognac and sugar, along with bitters (Willett 80). You can still buy 1805s Sazerac de forge cognac vintage. Unfortunately the Sazerac de Forge house closed around the mid-20th century.
Antoni Gaudi considered himself to be directly connected to Gothic styles through his art and architecture, deemed Neo-Gothic. A Spanish Architect known mostly for his dabbling in Art Nouveau. Gaudi is the best known example of these types of structures. Bordering on the fantastical and fluctuating between real and imaginary, his works make you think twice and leave you awestruck, much like the impressions of the original Gothic structures. La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona is one of the best known buildings in the world. A UNESCO World Heritage site since 2005, it's construction began more than 120 years ago. Starting in 1882 with a man named Joseph Bocabella, the basilica as we know it today would not have been possible without the changes of Antoni Gaudi starting in 1883. Prior to his involvement, Bocabella, a
