INTRODUCTION
With advancing technology where every day new systems are being designed, functions being implemented, new equipment being used, there are increased chances for damage due to failure of equipment rather components used in making those equipment. Hence the need for reliability of these components is very high so that the system designed is trusted and reliable which can be used for longer period of time.
Moreover, if we can determine the time of failure for an equipment we can save our system by replacing those components and increase the life of system. This forms the basis of the present thesis where the main focus is on finding more accurate reliability model for components using different techniques being supplied earlier and trying to successfully implementation of those models through fuzzy logic.
As most of the systems use semiconductors and devices formed through it, hence the focus is on these semiconductor devices. Also as the semiconductor’s function and performance evolve through various LSIs, ensuring its reliability is a major factor under consideration.
As a matter of fact, there had been many traditional approaches in predicting the reliability such as MIL-HDBK, Telcordia, and PRISM etc. In the same race Physics of Failure also gained importance and a Modified Physics of Failure method was suggested. Still finding the scope of improvement or say implementing the method through fuzzy logic, it could give us a clear and user friendly picture of its Industrial importance.
The different failure mechanisms which have high possibility of appearing at wafer level is given as-
1. Electro Migration (EM) - This is a failure mechanism where electrons flowing through metal (Al, Cu) lines collide physically with th...

... All this combine to give useful life of device which is different from that predicted by traditional methods. Hence, realizing the major factor that lead to device failure that is, Physics of Failure method, is a more realistic approach to reliability prediction. As its importance and usefulness have been sighted in the two discussed paper, the goal of the thesis is to extend its work towards fuzzy system and efficient use of artificial techniques.
AIM & OBJECTIVE
Short idea of Modified Physics of Failure has been proposed in the Paper 5 being discussed as given below.

The objective is to use this approach and insert two blocks. 1. Fuzzy logic block user friendly implementation. 2. Artificial Neural Network for Decision making to choose best possible way to determine reliability of the devices.
The proposed model is-
