Wright for 3 years was a special student in engineering at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. In 1902 Wright made the Hillside Home School. Wright received many awards and accolades from around the world. Wright's early houses showed a unique talent in the young, aspiring architect. Wright moved away from his home to go to Germany with Mamah Borthwick Cheney.

Starting from the bottom wasn’t easy for Frank Lloyd Wright but he did it and now lives on in history. There were many hardships and low dips in the road but at the end he became the unique and memorable artist he dreamed of becoming. He is remembered generally as an architect who used native elements in his homes. Frank Lloyd Wright was a great architect who is remembered for utilizing and incorporating the natural elements of an area in the building of his houses. “The most celebrated American architect of the Chicago school was Frank Lloyd Wright” (Stokstad).
Frank Lloyd Wright’s life truly was a work of art. 	Wright was born on June 8, 1867, in Richland Center, Wisconsin. His early influences include his clergyman father's playing of Bach and Beethoven and his mother's gift of geometric blocks. Growing up, Wright spent much of his summers at a farm owned by his uncles; here, his favorite pastime was building forts out of hay and mud. In 1882, at the age of 15, he entered the University of Wisconsin as a special student, studying engineering because the school had no course in architecture.
Frank Lloyd Wright Frank Lloyd Wright was born as Frank Lincoln Wright in Richland Center in southwestern Wisconsin, on June 8, 1867. His father, William Carey Wright, was a musician and a preacher. His mother, Anna Lloyd-Jones was a teacher(1 Compton). It is said that Anna Lloyd-Jones placed pictures of great buildings in young Frank's nursery as part of training him up from the earliest possible moment as an architect. Wright spent some of his time growing up at the farm owned by his uncles near Spring Green, Wisconsin.
