The French revolution had an effect throughout history for France and all countries worldwide. Louis the 16th was king when put into place around 1774 when he married Marie Antoinette and this took France down to a hole that couldn’t be climbed out of until Napoleon came into power in 1799. The French Revolution was brought on by the intensifying state of the French government, financial sadness, and New Ideas of the Enlightenment Movement and the French Revolution brought about radical social, monetary, and political change all throughout France.

The national assembly took place on June 14th, 1789. Quite after, in July 14th the bastille was destroyed and overtaken by the citizens of France. Later, Louise, the 16th was beheaded and the commoners started the declaration of the rights of men and of the citizens. “The free communication of ideas and of opinions is one of the most precious rights of man. Any citizen may, therefore, speak, write and publish freely, except what is tantamount [equivalent] to the abuse of this liberty in the cases determined by Law”. The people of France became independent and declared the people the rights they deserved. Even when the people acted this way they left many out from women to African Americans. A little after the people got their rights and stayed independent it turned into a bloodbath. External and internal wars broke out which lead to the reign of terror. It started in 1793 and only lasted a year. “Who then shall unravel all these subtle combinations? Who shall trace the exact dividing line that marks off one form of extremism from its opposite? It can be done only by a love of country and a love of truth. Kings and knaves will always try to destroy this love, for they shun reason and truth like the plague.”- Maximilien de Robespierre.
