The New Deal attempted to address the problems of the Great Depression with FDR’s Three R’s approach: relief, recovery, and reform. This included monetary reforms for farmers and banks and relief to the unemployed. In my opinion the new deal didn’t exactly solve all our economic problems, however I don’t think anyone else could have done a better job than FDR, and the American people think the same; had they thought differently they wouldn’t have elected him four times. Before FDR there was no such program to help the elderly and disabled, they lived in poverty. This is an example to one of the longest effects from the New Deal, the Social Security Act.
