Franklin Delano Roosevelt was born to James and Sara Roosevelt in 1882. His father was a businessmen in New York. Franklin spent his youth near Hyde Park near New York. He was schooled at home by tutors until a teenager.When Franklin was 14 years old, Sara and James sent him to the Groton School. Franklin's years at Groton were very difficult. After graduating from Groton, FDR went to Harvard College in 1900. He had only been in school for a few weeks when his father died. After receiving his undergraduate degree in 1903. Next Franklin began law school at Columbia University. He never graduated because he was married to distant cousin, Anna Eleanor. FDR had six children their names are Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Jr., Elliott Roosevelt, James Roosevelt, Anna Roosevelt Halsted, John Aspinwall Roosevelt and Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jr.

Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27, 1858. He grew up in New York City and was the second of four children. His father, Theodore, Sr., was a businessman and his mother was Martha Roosevelt. After he graduated from Harvard, Roosevelt married Alice H. Lee and studied law. A double tragedy happened to Roosevelt in 1884, when both his mother and his wife died in the same day and same house. Franklin D. Roosevelt's health was getting worse in 1944 for his fourth term and the end of World War II. In 1945 FDR returned to Warm Springs, Georgia, a destination that was his favorite retreat. On April 12 at Warm Springs, while sitting for a portrait, he collapsed. April 12 was the day FDR died of a cerebral hemorrhage. That same day Vice President Harry Truman took the oath of office. Roosevelt's passing completely stunned the world. Many Americans and world wide leaders mourned the death of a great president. Tons of people with many tears in their eyes lined the train route carrying his body from Georgia to Washington, D.C., and then on to Hyde Park, to pay their final respects. Roosevelt was buried in Hyde Park, New York, on April 15, 1945.
