INTRODUCTION Since the industrial revolution, energy has become the most essential thing in our life and cannot be separated within human life. Human dependence on energy has caused the rapid increase of energy consumption which majority is supplied by natural gas. Recently, there is a lot of talk regarding a controversial method of extracting natural gas which is called hydraulic fracturing or fracking. Even though it seems just newly occur, this technique has been known since the 1940s. Nowadays, USA has become the most hydraulic fracturing industries; over 60% of oil and gas are drilled by using this method. It has become booming since the last decades and has been done more than 1 million times there [1]. Despite of providing lower-cost energy, hydraulic fracturing is also associated with several serious threats. There has been several issues happening around the fracking activity and leading to a lot of protest from various parties.
