When going through the process of choosing our next president I came up with ten deciding factors that potentially lead up to who I am voting for president this November. Fracking should be banned in the United States. The Earth is a living planet. It has functioned naturally for over four billion years, and it will continue to evolve long after its current inhabitants are gone. That is not unless man, alters the planet 's natural evolution. In today 's world, coal has become the enemy, as a source of fuel, due to the high CO2 increase in the atmosphere. In a search for alternative forms of energy in the world, the gas and oil industry has discovered an alternative, found right here in our backyards. Accessing this natural resource, has …show more content…
However, this drilling process is more complex than the sounds. It requires the drilling team to inject other chemicals into these basins, to jump start the flow of this natural gas. These chemicals known as fracking fluid (water, sand, and other chemicals ), are highly toxic, and most likely carcinogenic. Then, finally, Wells are installed to extract the gas. Fracking has become a rapid paced extraction process, and at the current rate , maybe creating irreversible contamination in our water tables, that our planet may never recover from, and could ultimately destroy all living things. To date, approximately one half of the United States is currently Fracking natural gas; the contamination of the water resources in those areas is at its highest rate, compared to any time in history. However, the local, state and federal responses to people 's kitchen faucets and underground wells exploding into a continuous ball of fire, is the the denial that there is any connection between the two. In fact, in report after report, these authorities continue to declare that there is no connection between fracturing the earth to release this natural gas, and all the sick people, dead animals, and irreparable water contamination in and around their farms or …show more content…
You would have to consume 1500 lbs in a 15 minute period to have a 50% chance of lethality. Then you have 44 americans dying each day from painkiller overdose. We are cutting down the majority of our rainforests, im not saying marijuana legalization will stop that but it will help you can make an abundant amount of products with marijuana Free Abortion Clinics should be funded by the U.S. Government. Only 13 out of 50 states fund low income women for abortion Counter- Planned Parenthood a former government funded clinic was a place where you could go to receive free abortions, they stopped receiving funding for getting caught 3% of what Planned Parenthood actually did last year was abortion related, the reason there funding was cut off was mainly driven by the topic of abortion. When you cut off funding for Planned Parenthood you cut off access to contraception and screening for sexually transmitted diseases/infections The United States should build a wall along the US/Mexico Border. In my opinion the United States should continue, improve and eventually finish the Fence/Wall along our southern border. Illegal immigration is a huge problem in the United
Rough Draft Fracking is killing this earth. Hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, is a form of drilling into the earth to obtain oil. There are many ways that fracking kills this earth. If fracking continues, Earth as we know it will not be the same. The world will be a healthier place to live if fracking was banned. First of all, fracking costs a lot of money and requires tons of supplies. Each gas well needs about 400 tanker trucks to carry water and supplies to and from the site. A frack well
caught in an earthquake where there should not be one. All of this is increased by fracking and can be prevented. The question is should fracking continue or should it be banned. Fracking is a pressurized, chemically treated mixture of water and sand to release and extract natural gas and petroleum from shale rock. There are many articles, studies being done, and organizations fighting for what they think is right. Environmentalist want the technique of fracking banned because it plays a part in global
referred to as fracking, is a widespread practice in the United States. Fracking is a method used to extract oil and natural gas. Scientists and citizens report detrimental side effects of hydraulic drilling. New York and Vermont have banned fracking statewide. Maryland has set a two year moratorium on fracking, so that more research can be done to show the impacts of fracking on the environment. Nationwide, many other cities and counties have banned fracking as well. All states should look into finding
out of stone with a dangerous practice called fracking. "Fracking is a technique to extract petroleum and natural gas from underground rock formations" (ProQuest). According to Ellen Gilliland, a geophysicist and researcher at Virginia Center for Coal and Energy research, fracking is one of the most controversial practices in the energy industry to develop oil and gas reserves (Gilliland). Kathleen Hartnett, a Harvard graduate, has discovered that fracking causes many environmental concerns such as
drilling and fracking are a huge controversial issue, whether it is worth the risks and damages it is causing our planet. When off shore oil drilling takes place it is the process of drilling for oil out in the middle of the ocean, and collecting the oil in oil rigs. The fracking process that oil and gas companies use to extract natural gas and oil by using large quantities of water mixed with toxic chemicals, and injected underground to crack dense rock and release the oil and gas (“Fracking is Harmful”)
No Fracking Way Imagine a world where fresh and clear water was a luxury. Imagine water so contaminated with chemicals that every plant it comes into contact with dies. As the trees begin to die, oxygen levels drop. As the vegetation dies, wildlife begins to die out. The polluted water which flows through the ground into wells causes instant contamination. As the water flows out of the sink, one can strike a match and light the liquid on fire. Showering in these chemicals is out of the question
living near fracking sites. Half a decade later, fracking has depleted shale areas and fluctuated past the original 34 states during the making of the film. The article “The Fracking Industry’s Dishonest Response to ‘Gasland’” from The Nation website announced that the gas industry released “Truthland” in order to improve relations with the public. The oil/gas industry has certainly had its moments in the spot light and have sat under the interrogation
gas from “unconventional” resources, like shale gas and shale oil. Natural gas demand is increasing, in addition, is increasingly becoming an important role in meeting demand for energy in the United States. Thus Hydraulic Fracturing stimulated shale among the fastest emergent energy sources in the United States, a source that seemed impossible to few years ago. Natural gas, the cleanest burning fossil fuel, now provides approximately 40% of the country’s electricity generation [7]. Hydraulic Fracturing
(Iraqis Hard at Work on Oil Regulation Laws). The weak, young, and old will die because we didn't have the guts to do anything. We should take advantage of our time before it is too late for people all around the world. Before you know it the victim will be you. We must stop this wasting of fossil fuels that harm our environment. Oil is a valuable resource that should not be wasted on objects such as containers. Our government needs to take action by banning the distribution of plastic materials
a weapon. Such as during and after the 1973 Arab-Israeli War, the oil giant Saudi Arab, members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) imposed an oil embargo against the United States and other Western European countries, which including the Netherlands, Portugal,
