Forensic Science
1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Definition and Description
Forensic Science is the application of a group of sciences and technologies to investigate situations. Forensic Scientists study potential evidence that may help in a legal investigation. They are required to study decomposing and deceased corpses and a variety of other substances. A Forensic scientist may also be required to analyse drugs, poisons, body fluids, blood and alcohol inside the human body. To obtain this data, Forensics will have to examine and compare various materials using electrical devises and other means.

2. DISCUSSION
2.1 History
The occupation of forensic scientist has been around for a very long time, the first ever recorded biopsy was in 44BC. In the 15th centaury the first forensic science textbook was written. The study of forensics increased in the 1800’s, the first use of ballistics was in 1810 and in the 1890’s the Henry finger print system was developed. Forensics peak was in the 19th centaury which was the revolution of forensic science.

Forensic science positions require a bachelor’s degree to work in the field. Understanding of legal procedures and knowledge can be helpful. Job candidates that have extensive hands-on experience with a variety of laboratory equipment, that includes computers and related equipment, don’t require a long period of on-the-job training. People that are interested in a career as a forensic science technician should take as many high school science and math courses as possible. Science courses taken beyond high school, in a bachelor or an associate’s degree program, should be laboratory oriented, with an emphasis on bench skills. A solid background in physics, math, and applied chemistry is vital. Approximately 30 colleges and universities offer a bachelor’s degree program in forensic science, and about a...
In today’s time, modern Crime Scene Investigation has increased rapidly. From throughout the late 1900’s and in the early 2000’s (Taylor 1). For all of the evidence that they find, a solid foundation has formed over the thousands of years of Crime Scene
Has high school made you tired of school? Has high school worn you out to where you think college is going to be overwhelming? Do you need a break? A gap year just might be the right answer for you! A gap year is a break the can last anywhere between two months or two years and is taken between high school or in college(American Gap Association). A gap year right after high school may not sound like a good idea at first, but many people are thinking differently lately. Gap years are not as common in American as they are across seas. Taking a gap year before college could help you find out what you want to do. If you do plan on taking a gap year right after high school you can still apply for college during your senior, like normally. All you do is when you get your acceptance letter back you can defer your admission for a year. Gap years are beneficial if you spend them volunteering, working, or just taking a break.
A gap year is a time for teens to take off between high school and college. A gap year is used to travel, work, volunteer or study. In general, a gap year has many advantages. This year out of a school is a good time for students to explore the world and gain valuable life skills and experience while learning to be independent. Teens in the U.S. should adopt the British custom of taking a gap year between high school and college in order to gain perspective on personal values and career goals as well as gaining needed life experiences without the pressure and expectations of a school environment. A gap year is a time for students to become independent and learn a sense of responsibility before entering into university life.
A forensic scientist analyzes different types of evidence from scenes or incidents, writes reports, and testifies in court as an expert witness. Being a forensic scientist is a very detailed oriented profession and they usually work some sort of a lab setting. Occasionally they may visit crime scenes or numerous accidents to help revamp the crime, gather evidence, or preserve data, but this is a very small part of their duties and is usually saved for a crime scene examiner. Forensic scientist may work for the federal or local government, forensic labs, police departments, hospitals, universities or as an independent forensic science consultant. Some specialist in Forensics Sciences are; Forensic Scientist, Forensic Pathologist, Forensic Anthropologist, Forensic Entomologist,
Most high school graduates have only one thing on their mind: college. Those graduates spend so much time applying to colleges and wondering what they actually want to do with their life. Most of the United States graduates feel like they should wait a year before attending college. This is considered a “gap year.” “Increasingly, school leavers are taking time out from study or formal work after completing high school-- often referred to as a ‘gap year’ (involving structured activities such as "volunteer tourism" and unstructured activities such as leisure)”(Martin). “Many students pursue volunteering during their gap time, and hundreds of organizations offer the chance to be of service domestically and abroad” (Sarouhan). A gap year can be
We do have known what forensics is. Forensics that we know is an application of various sciences to answer questions that are important to legal system in which it may be related to a crime. Forensics generallu covering something or methods of a scientific nature and also the rules established from the facts of the event, to do an introduction to physical evidence. This is just a usual forensics. Nowadays, forensics is not just like that, digital devices are everywhere today, helping people to communicate with other people globally, not just between town. We can use that to do some forensics thing too, and find the evidence. It is called Digital Forensics.
Forensic Science, recognized as Forensics, is the solicitation of science to law to understand evidences for crime investigation. Forensic scientists are investigators that collect evidences at the crime scene and analyse it uses technology to reveal scientific evidence in a range of fields. Physical evidence are included things that can be seen, whether with the naked eye or through the use of magnification or other analytical tools. Some of this evidence is categorized as impression evidence2.In this report I’ll determine the areas of forensic science that are relevant to particular investigation and setting out in what method the forensic science procedures I have recognized that would be useful for the particular crime scene.
The transitional growth in the forensic science sector has not been without challenges. Though the world has experienced increased capabilities and scientific knowledge, which has led to faster investigations and results, many forensic experts have argued that forensic laboratory testing, in the light of 21st century technological advancements, is yet to meet the expected rate in quick available testing and analysis (Mennell & Shaw, 2006). This is with respect to the growing rate of crime and the high demand of quick crime scene testing and analysis. In the science of crime scene, analysis and interpretation of evidence is majorly dependent on forensic science, highlighting the change in the role of forensic sciences (Tjin-A-Tsoi, 2013). In the business of forensic science, time is beginning to play important role in the evidence testing and analysis which is becoming crucial in reducing ...
As far back as 1832, James Marsh was the first to use forensics at trial to give evidence as a chemist in 1832. Since that time forensic science and evidence has come a long way in various ways and technology to help in determine if the suspect is guilt or not, through such things as DNA testing, blood, and fingerprints. The first forensic police crime lab was created in 1910. The contributions of Dr. Edmond Locard, a French scientist and criminologist, proposed that “everything leaves a trace”. This principle is still valid today as it was so many years ago. No matter how small, the specialized trained technicians and investigators can take these methods and go to a crime scene to get evidence. “Forensic science is the application of sciences such as physics, chemistry, biology, computer science and engineering to matters of law.” (Office of Justice, 2017) These different sciences can help achieve and assist in solving a case. Forensic science has also the ability to prove that a crime was committed, it can find the elements of the crime, it can help place the suspect at the scene and whether the suspect had any contact with the victim. However, in the last several years the techniques and with the use of technology the evidence that forensic science uncovers can also exonerate an innocent individual who has been falsely accused of the
They also come out of high school burnt out, tired, and bored. The idea of a gap year is for students to put off college to take time to refresh and figure out their life plans before starting to early and making mistakes (Danielle). Linda Lee writes in her article, “What’s the Rush? Why College Can Wait”, that the idea of a gap year is supported by a few colleges such as Harvard and Princeton as well as some others, these colleges like the idea of gap year because they believe that it can help students get more experience to make a decision in what they want to do exactly and come back the next year and execute their plans. Students that take a gap year are able to take scholarships from certain organization such as American Gap Association and USA Gap Fairs, which promote gap year. The idea of gap year is to help prepare the students for the next year and also help them become more experienced. By taking a gap year, it also can look beneficial on your application when you take time off gaining experience by volunteering, working, interning, or
Forensic science includes all types of different science such as: physics, chemistry, biology, computer science and engineering to matter of law. A forensic scientist is a specialist in a field of science who applies their knowledge to the purposes of law. The job as a Forensic Scientist not only has many details and facts you have to remember but you also need items of evidence that are relevant in order to examine the scene correctly.
“The word ‘forensics’ means “connected with the courtroom”; so forensic science is, therefore, concerned with gathering hard evidence that can be presented in a trial” (Innes 9). Forensic science is a science that is applied specifically to legal matters, whether criminal or civil. “Few areas in the realm of science are as widespread and important as forensic science” (Hunter 12). Forensics is the one science that is most commonly used in everyday life. It is also a branch of science that incorporates other branches of science such as biology, chemistry, and etc. Since it is used almost every day “No one can dispute the importance of the contributions to society made by forensic science; the ability to solve crime is undeniably important” (Hunter 13). Forensic science has given criminal investigation a new edge. “Advances in science have opened the door for more effective evidence discovery, howev...
We all need a break from school, whether its going from high school into college, or during college. Even though there’s a risk of losing momentum after a long layoff from school, its an opportunity to regroup and explore more before taking that next big step into college, having figured out what you want to do in the future. Not only will you able to rest your brain for what’s upcoming, this allows to be fully confident on a major that interests the student, which allows for an easy transition into their careers, and they can have a chance to explore the world at their free will without be strained.
Students who take a gap year regularly go on to be successful in college. Even though people might not go back after that year is over, everybody should think about the idea of taking a year off because it has a many amount of benefits and 90 percent of students who take a year off go back to college and graduate and it gives you a fresh start entering college.
