This paper involves researching and preparing a report on a business career of your choice. I would expect you to use multiple resources and to also properly document those resources with footnotes as required. The paper should be a minimum of two to three double spaced, typed pages, not including your resources/works cited page. You should have a minimum of two outside resources. The text and Wikipedia may be used as resources but they do not count toward the two outside resources.
This is my Business Career Paper which is on the career of my choosing. I have chosen to go down the psychological path of education which is a wide array of various paths that intertwine like a thick cable of optic fiber surrounding a ping pong of information that goes back and forth. My interests are personal and come from the hard life I have lived. Beginning as a child. Their are multiple paths to choose from down the road but at this moment in time my curiosity and highlighted choices lead me down the path of forensic psychology. “First, it is important to realize that there are many different types of psychologists and the educational and licensing requirements can vary considerably depending on the specialty area you are interested in.”(Cherry)1
I would like to follow in the path of forensics because I want to help those who have lost someone close to them due to crime. I also would like to help retrieve justice for the defendant of upon whom this crime was committed. Their are so many people out their who have died or have been raped or abused physically, mentally and emotionally who don't find peace of mind and no one ever pays for the crime that they have committed. In California, I must “possess a doctoral degree in psychology, educ...

...t the dearest of things because you never expect your world to be torn from your limbs until it happens. Depending on what field I go into I can see myself teaching psychology when I am older. I will start out a student, then a practitioner, then a master and finally, a mentor. Let me leave you with a word of advice on love. If there is someone you love, treat them as a person, then a princess/prince, then a Greek Goddess/God and then a person again.

When we were little, we thought the word “Career” was not a big deal, but as a senior in high school the word has become our reality as we start to finish our last semester. The question we’ve been asked all these years was what do you want to be when you grow up? But our answer was simple; we don’t want to grow up. As an innocent kid it seemed like the time would never come, but it has. It’s time to get serious and really ponder on this question. My mind has wondered for so long on what my career would be. We all wanted to be an astronaut, but I never liked space or the fact of not having any gravity. What if I get lost in the universe? Maybe I’ll be a firefighter, but I never was interested. Well how about a cop? That’s it, a police woman. I grew up watching crime movies and cop shows but knew that that was never reality. I started getting interested in court cases and the mind of a serial killer. Why do they do it, was always my question. I searched for more answers and found that the behavior plays an important role. That’s when I decided I wanted to become an FBI profiler for the Behavior Analysis Unit (BAU).
Crime scene investigators, also known as CSIs, have played an essential role in protecting citizens, by proving who is guilty, and who is innocent. CSIs use a large amount of Science and Math skills to solve crimes, resulting in a decent income. They are specialized in forensic science in order to examine crime scenes and recover important evidence (Career Cruising).

In the forensic psychology field you will have the options of pursuing areas of mental health and social services. I chose to research the profession of a homicide detective. This profession interests me because I find solving a puzzle satisfying, by picking up the pieces (evidence) and fitting them together I can solve the mystery of the homicide. This of course is something I will have to work toward, as I cannot become one right out of the gate. First I will have to be a police officer. I have to be a police officer first because I need to gain experience in the criminal justice world and with victims/ suspects. Depending on the town I choose to pursue my career in I could have to start as a patrol officer or at a jail. I am doing things now to try and set myself apart from other candidates so if the time does ever come for a promotion I can be one step
Well, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics, “the average salary for forensic psychology is around $59,440, ranging from $45,300 to $77.750 annually” (http://www.psychologycareercenter.org/forensic-psychologist-salary.html) and “the average annual earnings for developmental psychology in 2009 ranged from $69,000 to $91,000” (http://www.apa.org/action/science/developmental/education-training.aspx). If you are wanting to pursue one of these careers you will need to require an education of a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or Ph.D. in psychology along with a license in most states and certification in forensic psychology to become a forensic psychologist. Doctorate is required in developmental psychology and a state license required to work with patients in counseling or clinical

It has been my lifelong dream to have a profound academic achievement. My personal goal is to become a Licensed Psychologist. Just recently I graduated from my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix. This first step in my educational pursuit gave me the confidence that I can still fulfill my dream of becoming a psychologist. There are a few turns and road blocks in my educational trek; however, I never lose sight of my goal. I now, more than ever, intensified my passion for reaching my goal.
