Ever since the implementation of the foreign talent policy in 1997, foreigners are allowed to migrate to Singapore to work. There are different opinions about foreign talents in Singapore. Some Singaporeans welcome their presence while others do not. Foreigners in Singapore can be divided into 3 categories -- investors, expatriates and workers. Singaporeans are generally receptive to investors bringing funds and creating job opportunities in Singapore. They help to stimulate our economy and improve our standard of living. However with their strong buying power Singapore becomes an expensive city to live in. Most Singaporeans are unhappy about the expatriates in Singapore. The level of cleanliness and social behaviour are different. Some foreigners are loud and rowdy at public places.
