My journey as a student began at the time I was born. Even when I was not in school I was always learning, learning to talk when I was a baby, learning to ride my bike when I was a child, learning the ways to do things through out life. Life is one over all great learning experience. One way that learning is a huge part of our life and society is through schools. Schools are a big part of each person’s life. Without school and education many people would not be where they are today. My previous school experiences have prepared me to be a college scholar because they have taught me to manage my time wisely, to work hard, and to be dedicated. For starters, school has taught me to manage my time wisely. In high school I was very busy and had to manage my time. I was very involved in the school; I participated in honors society, DECA and student council, along with varsity sports such as volleyball, cross country, swimming, diving, track, and soccer. As you can see I was very busy just with these extracurricular activities. I took AP classes as well which require a lot of time and effort. Also I was in six different sports in all four years. Practices for each sport were at least one hour long if not longer for a minimum of five days a week. In order for me to be able to do all of these activities all four years, I had to learn to use my time wisely. Being able to get things done in a timely manner and having it be good quality can be a difficult thing. This is a lesson that I have learned the hard way. Each day I had a pretty set schedule and knew what I needed to get done. In the morning I would go to school and go to all my classes until three; then it was one practice until five and after that it was another practice until seven.... ... middle of paper ... ...s something that had to get done. In college I need to be dedicated to school in order to get good grades and to make the most of my college experience. Being dedicated to school is a tough thing. It requires a lot of time and effort along with many sacrifices. For example, if my friends wanted to hangout and I have an exam the next day, I would have to sacrifice that time to study in order to get a good grade. The qualities to becoming a college scholar entitle steps including elementary, middle, and high school. Many qualities should be acquired through these years to allow me to develop the skills needed to become a college scholar. In the end I believe that developing qualities such as dedication, hard work, and time management are very important to achieve. Through school and school experiences I believe that I have learned the skills to be a college scholar.
Everyone has their goals in life but college is one of those methods used to fulfill those goals. College was always on my agenda. Before I was even born, my parents had created a new pathway solely for me. This road took me on a journey filled with motivation, anxiety, and gratitude that ended up taking me to college.
We live in a very competitive world where, in general, people are more educated. Therefore, college education is essential to the future of our generation. The higher the education, the higher are the chances of getting a nice job. For me, education is not only important to implement my knowledge, but also to improve my communication and leadership skills, and helps me to become more confident with myself, and it also impacts in my decision-making. I love studying and learning about the world we live in. Furthermore, I believe that there are only three keys for a better and more peaceful world: education, education, and education. There is no such thing as wasting money or time in school; there is an investment in our future.
Most people today think of college as simply a place to get a better education, or merely as a steppingstone to financial success. College is far more than that. College is an experience that shapes a person, which can have both positive and negative outcomes. It is all up to the students to make the college experience worth their time and effort. Students must realize the importance of the responsibilities now demanded of them by higher education.
School is a huge representation of one’s character and work ethic. I think it shows a lot about a person when they put effort into their school work and grades, because it reflects how hard they are willing to work for their goals and aspirations. School allows many opportunities to grow as a person, and show your personality. Within class I am always an active participant, I always add my input in discussion, and work to answers questions. ...use of this issue. Even I prefer learning for my own pleasure over school work, but this competition is what molds students into high-achieving individuals. Having to work up to a deadline, conducting research, and collaborating with peers for group projects are all necessary tasks in the "real world". It is true that success can be achieved without school, but school is only one of the many pathways an individual can choose in order to become educated. School provides students with the ability to strive in the real word by providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed. When asked what I am studying for, I can say that I am studying to become someone who can make a difference. I may not enjoy the stress and anxiety that comes with school, but I cherish the fact that school is providing me with the knowledge and skills I need to further my dreams.
School is a process that takes time and a lot of dedication. When we finish high school we have to choose to go to college or not. Most people go to college without knowing what they want to do. The only thing we know is that we want a degree of some sort. Getting a college degree should be essential to everybody because without one you won’t be successful in life.

Many students enter college expecting knowledge and a sense of direction. It may be hard to balance school between work, you’re social life, life at home, personal issues, etc. A few challenges that I know about all too well have to deal with money, transportation, and procrastination. You spend all of high school listening to your teachers and parents preparing you for what is to come in the near future. The truth is that there is only one way of truly learning, from experience.
Although it is a seemingly trivial matter, it was a time in my life where I was away from the support of my family and friends and had to confront this battle myself. Initially, I felt overwhelmed and doomed for failure. The course load was more intense than my high school work and there was a lot of material I never learned that was needed prior for a few of my classes. I struggled to keep pace with some of my other classmates and had to sacrifice a lot of free time and participation in extracurriculars to keep afloat with the material. I thought I had a good grasp on time management, but my new college schedule tested by abilities. As the fall semester progressed, I was gaining confidence and skills in arranging my time in an effective way. Moreover, I was adjusting to the new sense of independence I was giving. Before going away to school, I would run errands and do tasks by myself and felt pretty independent, but I still had the comforts and reassurance of home. At ND, I had to adapt to this new meaning of independence and feeling of uncertainty. I was able to overcome this challenging time in my life by being patient and persevering until I felt more grounded with my
When I hear the word college, I automatically think of books, education, and learning. When I reflect on the reasons why I go to college, the first thing that comes to mind is my mother. The more I think about it, the more I realize the reason why I attend college is to not only learn, but create a path to where I want to head in life. I attend college to seek the best path ahead and work hard in order to give back to the most ambitious woman I know, my mother.

My High School life has helped shape the way for my college experiences that I will face. My senior year in high school is not the same as many other high school students. I am taking many advanced classes to help me prepare for college. These classes help me better understand exactly how much harder I must work to succeed.
College for an incoming freshman is exciting, however, it is often focused on the social aspect such as the connections that can be attained through Greek life, parties and independence. Due to the social interactions, freshmen tend to drop out of college after their first year. Focusing on what college is meant for can prevent these situations. The pressures of college such as impressing parents, and maintain a high standard GPA-wise can lead to stress and freeze a student from achieving the proper academic performance. During the mid 1900s, college was considered more of a luxury than anything; people would attend college exclusively to acquire knowledge in hopes of obtaining a career after graduation. People in the twenty-first century, however, attend college to get away from home and enjoy freedom at parties. Education is taken lightly, and those who feel that education isn’t the main focus of college should not apply for sakes of the greater good.
It can be extremely difficult to make time for everything you want or need to do. I think Bill Waterson, the creator of "Calvin and Hobbes," said it best: "There's never enough time to do all the nothing we want." He must have been very familiar with teenagers, and it's true; we need to be organized, we need to set priorities and goals. Now for those of you who have done that and know exactly what you want to do with your life, that's awesome but that doesn't mean that you can stop setting goals to be a better person. Because, as we all know, we must be life-long learners and must continue to set goals, and when we achieve them we must evaluate them and then set new goals. You won't be able to do everything you'll want to do so, don't waste any time doing nothing.
My journey as a student has always been focused on the path to college and success. Before I even set foot in kindergarten my mother, a college dropout, always told me that “honor roll wasn’t an option” and that I would be attending college in the future and achieving a degree. Most of the time I made these requirements. Most of the time I was awarded honor roll or had a newly edited list of colleges to attend, but sometimes life got in the way of my dreams of achieving success.
