In this communication class I have learned many ways to communicate my ideas through a variety of concepts. Also, working in groups has enabled me to learn a lot, and express my thoughts, and words. However, for my final project I have chosen to talk about an organization that many students are not aware that existed on campus. I used a multimedia art performance as my communication concept to communicate to students about the values of this organization, what it stands for, how impacted students on campus, and what it does. Donations are delivered to the food pantry, then they get organized to be picked by students. The type of food can vary from fresh vegetables, rice, to canned food. There are four ways to deliver food to the food pantry, by directly donating food to room 350 in the Student Union building, shopping their Amazon wish list, making monetary donations, and payroll detection of staff and faculty. Having this organization have established and maintained the values of having students, faculty, staff, and parents contribute to the students of LSU to help them succeed through college. For example, when the recent flood reached Baton Rouge specifically on-campus 2016, the pantry was able to help all students who were affected by supplying fully occupied shelves full of food for that time and making sure they had enough to survive. One of the values that the organization stands for is service, where it is the fundamental to creating hunger free environments for all students. This type of communication is great to use and communicate on campus to promote this organization because it incorporates technology and a performance to deliver a message to the audience at campus. For this specific organization, the performance must be preformed by students. Therefore, flyers will be posted on campus to have students volunteer and be part of the performance where they can get an early registration for next semester as a reward for their effort and time. The multimedia art performance will take a place at the theater at the student center at the Union on a Thursday night, since most students are free around that time. Using projectors and sound speakers to display a short video to introduce what the LSU food pantry does and explain its services on campus. Then, group of students would perform a play incorporated with background music for 6 minutes in total explaining how hunger impact us when we study and exercise. The first play would have two students on stage, one of the students would sit on a table having no food by themselves at the cafeteria in the background, next to another person who just started eating their food.
