Before the Neolithic and the industrial era, diets varied from civilization to civilization. Our ancestors ate the wild plants and animals that were found in the area. Thus many nutrients were not found in their body’s which made them weak, since they did not have food which produces energy in the body. Things changed during the Neolithic period our ancestors started to eat certain foods which are called novel foods. What made these types of food different they required a lot more processing then any foods before this time. The novel foods are, dairy products, cereals, refined cereals, refined sugars, refined vegetable oils, fatty meats, salt, and combinations of these foods. In my culture there is a food which is simply raw beef with some seasonings. It is not cooked and we all eat it normally, it’s called kibbeh. Many people when they visit Arab countries or restaurants are usually offered this. They will eat it perfectly fine and will enjoy it. But it may cause them to be a little sick after ward because their bodies are not used to it. Me for example my body is immune to it and it doesn’t cause me to be sick or anything. This shows our bodies are very complicated and some mixes of foods do not go well, if our body isn’t used to it. Novel foods involve many foods that give us energy but they cause a lot diseases since our body may not be able to process them correctly. That is why when we eat more than we need to we gain fat very quickly. Al though these foods may have many side effects, the reason some health problems occur is when we over consume. Soto blame it on foods itself is not correct. Many of the people who suffer from obesity are young kids, and as they get older it is hard for them to overcome it. That is why to solve this it isn’t necessary change the foods we eat, but to moderate how much they do. Our ancestors didn’t have the luxury to food as we do, so they were limited
