Divorce takes place after a couple decides not to live together anymore as husband and wife. They sign legal papers that allow them to live single again. After divorce, it becomes legal to plan for re-marriage for both husband and wife. As crazy as it may seem there is many reasons why couples cheat in a marriage. Today, cheating is one of the leading causes of divorce. However it is also been proven that cheating has not always been the issue of every divorce. It has also been proven that many marriages have survived even after cheating has been involved (WritingCountry).
Flirting With Others
Flirting with others is one of the causes of divorce. It can lead one to get their feelings wrapped up into another person besides their mate and then if they aren't careful they could lose feelings for their spouse. Flirting can be the very thing that leads to temptations to sin or lust and becomes something worse than that if we dont discipline ourselves and watch it. There are biblical facts that teaches us about temptations and lust such as: 2 Timothy 2:22

Some people find themselves miserable with their marriage partner and wonder why did they get married in the first place after all I've learned that not everyone marries their soul-mate. For some people the only way for them to be free is to cheat on their spouse to be free from the spouse because they are not happy anymore. However this is dangerous and can cause more damage to the other spouse which can destroy someone's life. We can hurt others by not dealing with the issue at hand and being open and honest with saying I want divorce because I'm not happy anymore instead of going out and being disloyal and cheating using I'm not happy anymore as an excuse that justifies our evil actions. But we know that this is one leading cause of cheating and some marriage
A century ago, divorce was nearly non-existent due to the cultural and religious pressures placed upon married couples. Though over time Canadians have generally become more tolerate of what was once considered ‘mortal sin’, marital separation and divorce still remain very taboo topics in society. Political leaders are frowned upon when their marriages’ crumble, religions isolate and shun those who break their martial vows and people continue to look down on those who proceed to legally separate their households. With that being said, couples do not just decide to get a divorce for no particular reason. There must be something driving them towards marital dissatisfaction and further, driving them towards divorce.
What causes male infidelity in a marriage? Many can say it’s the ‘mid-life-crisis’ that makes a man want to make life changing decisions. Another reason may be that the man is miserable in his marriage and instead of telling his spouse about what’s wrong, he cheats. For many of these spouses’ “no one cares about [this issue] until it happens to them in their marriage” (Schorr). Ironically, men can have an affair by just simply being bored in their marriage. The fact is just sad that those men in marriages get bored within a few years of being married after their honeymoon. A husband may sleep with another person besides their soul mate to escape frustration in their relationship because, they see no other way out of a marriage except for having
The Increase in Divorce Rate and Changes in Law A divorce is a legal ending of a marriage between a husband and wife. Divorce rate has increased whenever laws have been passed to make divorce quicker, easier and cheaper and so many people believe that changes in law have led an increase in divorce rate. However, other sociologists argue that changes in law do not cause divorce and that the real reason why people divorce are changing expectations from marriages, the changing attitude of women and declining pressure from family, community and religion against divorce. The 1971 Divorce Reform Act granted divorce on the grounds of 'irretrievable breakdown of marriage' and a divorce can take place after two years of marriage. The 1984 Matrimonial and Family Proceeding Act allowed divorce after 1 year.
Lust, one of the deadly sins, is viciously immoral and tempting. It is described as a strong desire for something or someone, mainly sex. In C.S. Lewis’s astounding novel, The Screwtape Letters, Screwtape explains that, “The Enemy’s demand on humans takes the form of a dilemma; either complete abstinence or unmitigated monogamy. Ever since our Father’s first great victory, we have rendered the former very difficult to them” (Lewis 93). Basically, this means that due to our own sexual desires, we have purposefully ignored God’s demand that we stay chaste and faithful. Lust is about getting the personal satisfaction of what you want while ignoring the feelings of others, which can lead to destroyed relationships.
