Concept of Flipped Classroom
The flipped classroom is the educational approach in which the homework elements and the typical lecture related to a course are reversed (Kim, et al., 2014). In this process, the short video lectures are made and given to student for home before the classroom sessions. This video is regarded as the main ingredient in the flipped approach because the lectures are developed by the instructed in the form of video and are posted online on the blackboard or other respective online platforms. Muijs et al (2014) stated that concept of flipped classroom focuses on the concepts such as student engagement, active learning, course podcasting, and hybrid course design. Student Involvement Theory
According to Tune et al (2013), the student involvement theory contributes as the guidance in the process of designing and developing an effective learning environment. The concept of student involvement includes the amount of psychological and physical energy that is directed by a student towards their social experience and academic progress. It is noticed that involvement functions as a continuum such as dedication of significant time to prepare for the class, participating in the organisations and extracurricular activities, studying, and involving with the instructors and peers. This progress would demonstrate high student involvement, while, a student that participants less in these activities represents lower involvement. The importance of student involvement can be determined based on the role in fostering the learning of student.
