Starbuxman (11:45:02 PM): trying to defend firewalls should be a crime
ELITE BOO (11:46:17 PM): im not defending them, its only the facts. plus if you try to make that a crime, the world of computers would just laugh at your face
ELITE BOO (11:48:02 PM): btw, trying to download from nbci was a bitch, i had to create my own html file to link to them, twice!
Starbuxman (11:48:40 PM): the facts are a simpler, cleaner system is the way to go. Virus protection, firewalls and other idiocy only inhibit progress. and the firewall would indeed inhibit an installation if it were one of the many programs/crap/variables free on the internet. Each time i send someone on AIM a file, they have to disable the firewall. This is lost time.
Starbuxman (11:48:58 PM): And NBCI isn't a bitch (or if it is, dont say it) rthey use PHP, atfer all
Starbuxman (11:49:08 PM): and sexy apache
ELITE BOO (11:50:24 PM): ive always had a firewall on while you sending me something through aim and never had to turn it off, shows how much you know about the
ELITE BOO (11:50:25 PM): m
Starbuxman (11:50:52 PM): hey senor i know plenty. kevin has a firewall. he has to turn it off.
ELITE BOO (11:51:01 PM): without having a firewall installed on your pc is a perfomance of idiocy
ELITE BOO (11:51:27 PM): kevin's firewall therefor sucks or he has not configured it properly
Starbuxman (11:51:49 PM): and youre the one who uses it -- youre te one whos lacking in knowledge. performance - another reason why firewalls can suck it -- theyre one more thing that inhibits my computers performance
ELITE BOO (11:51:58 PM): firewalls dont only come in the form of software niether, they are more common as hardware
ELITE BOO (11:52:41 PM): if a firewall lacks your computers perfomance so much that you notice it, then its quite obvious that your computer sucks
Starbuxman (11:52:59 PM): my old computer did suck.
Starbuxman (11:53:01 PM): and in those cases theyre not only all of the above, theyre expensive. basically theres not a single reason to use firewalls but to protect you from yourself.
Starbuxman (11:53:14 PM): hardware. oy.
Starbuxman (11:53:29 PM): now youre making it an expense too. no thanks.
ELITE BOO (11:55:33 PM): of course there expensive, but its a single payment of 24hr protection... and how the hell can you say the only use of a firewall is to protect
Christine De Pizan’s work in The Book of The City of Ladies pioneers a new genre of feminist literature that exposes a time period from the perspective of its female population. Due to this, De Pizan justifiably earns the title of a revolutionary author. However, to say that De Pizan revolutionized the conditions of women in the medieval ages and onward is an overstatement. In her book, De Pizan critiques sexist arguments in order to defend women against misogyny. The change that De Pizan presented in medieval culture was gradual because she was attempting to amend people’s perspectives on women rather than offer any institutional rectifications. She worked to establish that women can be just as mighty as men, and thus, they are not innately inferior. However, her goal was not to ensure that women have equal access to exercise and pursue their virtuous roles. Therefore, if observed
Domestic Violence is a widely recognized issue here in the United States. Though many people are familiar with domestic violence, there are still many facts that people do not understand. Abuse is not just physical, it is mental, emotional, verbal, sexual and financial. Many victims of physical abuse are also fall victim to these abuse tactics as well. An abusive partner often uses verbal, mental, emotional, and financial abuse to break their partner so to speak. It is through this type of abuse the victim often feels as though they are not adequately meeting their partner’s needs.
The Jaagz company’s network will utilize a firewall. The firewall will be placed between the local area network and the Internet connection. Firewalls are put in place to prevent unauthorized access to a computer or network. A firewall will allow emails and web pages; however, it will block all other types of data.
In Susan Glaspell’s “A Jury of Her Peers”, female characters face inequality in a society dominated by the opinions of their husbands. The women struggle to decide where their loyalty rests and the fate of a fellow woman. Aided by memories and their own lifestyles the women realize their ties to a woman held for murder, Minnie Foster Wright. Through a sympathetic connection these women, Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters have greater loyalty to a fellow woman than to their husbands and even the law; this greater loyalty ultimately shows the inequality between genders.
Glaspell authored this feminist short story, now considered a classic and studied in many institutions of higher education, in 1917, a story that underwent reawakening in the 1970s (Hedges). As the investigation of Mr. Wright’s murder takes the sheriff of Dickson County, neighbor Mr. Hale, and their wives to the Wright farm, the story “confines itself to the narrow space of Minnie’s kitchen--- the limited and limiting space of her female sphere. Within that small space are revealed all of the dimensions of the loneliness that is her mute message” (Hedges). It is evident through Glaspell’s writing that Minnie Wright feels distress from being trapped in the confines of her kitchen with no telephone and no outreach to the world outside her husband’s farm. Mrs. Wright being quarantined to her own home every day--- a common occurrence in housewives of ...
Glaspell exposed how this dominance can be physically and mentally damaging to the women by displaying the sexist interactions between males and females. According to the article “Representations of Rural Women in Susan Glaspell’s Trifles”, Raja Al-Khalili states “Susan Glaspell used domestic violence as a motif to arouse questions concerning motives that lead women, who are relegated to the house, to become physical aggressors.” (132) Glaspell uses hidden clues such as the men having important professions, and how these professions play a huge role in the hierarchy of male dominance. These specific professions were being the town’s sheriff and the court appointed attorney. Another example, in the beginning of the play, Glaspell uses great imagery to show us the men stand by the stove and the women by the door during a cold time. This essays demonstrates the changes the characters underwent and displays the physical and mental damage that Mrs. Hale, Mrs. Wright, and Mrs. Peters endured during this male central
In the first scene, the reader is introduced to Mrs. Wright’s kitchen. Quickly one can tell that things have been left unkempt and that a disturbance has occurred. Through the male perspective, Mrs. Wright is judged entirely on the basis of how disheveled her home appears, how her kitchen is out of sorts, as well as how poorly everything else is left. For example, the County Attorney is not pleased when he finds dirty towels and states that Mrs. Wright was “not much of a housekeeper,” and that he “can’t say she had the homemaking instinct.” These qualities seem to be of uppermost importance to him, and the reader can only wonder what his opinion of her would have been had the house been left tidy.
The existing notion held by some men at that time was that men were superior over women and that women are inherently the feeble gender. However, de Pizan questions this claim by alluding to the Bible. De Pizan asserts, “There he made Adam fall asleep and formed the body of woman from one of his ribs, which signifies that she should be at is side as a companion and not at his feet like a slave, and also that he should love her as his own flesh” (de Pizan 132). De Pizan provides a new, provocative interpretation of this bible excerpt by contending that God Himself intended for women to be equal to men, rather than inferior. Because Eve was formed from Adam’s flesh, De Pizan concludes that men and women, who both have the same flesh, blood and of the same constitution in all respects, are equal powers. She challenges the misogyny that has plagued her time by referring to a literary text that men cannot state as false. Although de Pizan’s beliefs that women are not inferior to men were considered unconventional during her lifetime, they helped serve as a model for feminism centuries later. Jill E. Wagner from the University of Iowa, argues in her scholarly journal, “Christine de Pizan 's City of Ladies: A Monumental Reconstruction of, by, and for Women of All Time,” that, “Christine builds a feminist framework for the future. She can be considered the founder of the modern women 's movement, [by]
To begin with, “A Jury of her Peers” is about the way women in 1917 were treated by men. The main women characters are Minnie Wright, Mrs. Peters, and Mrs. Hale. The women in the story are confined to their homes; rarely getting to go to town or visit with their friends. The women did not have many things with color and beauty. The men looked down on the women as inferior. The women in the story are the subordinates and the men are the dominants, because the men oppress the women and control them.
Although they are both a lot alike, there are many differentials of the two. Universities are known for having large campuses; consequently, resulting in large number of students in each class. While Universities can range from having 20-1000 participants at a time, community colleges usually have no more than 50 participants in a class. As a result of such a large class size, it is harder for a professor to be able to develop the one-on-one time with a student. Due to most co...

Business ventures can benefit from virtual firewalls to protect access and data at lower costs than traditional methods. It is also beneficial to have an experienced security professional who is aware of your security needs. Virtual security involves the use of advanced controls such as a virtual switch to protect against malicious attacks coming from unverified sources. Applications are isolated to make them untouchable by malware, viruses and even applications that may stop execution (Marshall, 2011).
In “ A Jury of Her Peers”, when the county sheriff and attorney go to the Wright house to investigate a murder. They search for clues to incriminate Mrs. Wright but find nothing. They discover Mr. Wright strangled in his bedroom and saw Mrs. Wright completely unaffected. Although Mrs. Wright claims to have been asleep while the murder occurred, the women conclude she choked her husband, Mr. Wright, as evidenced by the broken bird cage, the strangled canary, and the errant quilt patch.
Even with the pain of bearing children, raising them, doing household and even farm chores, their efforts have never been truly appreciated. Mrs. Wright was “…real sweet and pretty, but kind of timid—and fluttery…” as Mrs. Hale, her neighbor, describes her (22). This would all soon change after her wedding day. With Mr. Wright’s insipid character and lack of patience of any joyous sound, Mrs. Wright’s spirit dwindled to nothing. It seems she spent hours at a time focusing on her quilts, preserves, and caring for the only life there was in the house, her canary. Even when Mr. Hale offered to get a party telephone, Mr. Wright responded, “…folks talk too much anyway…”(5). This silence he preferred also applied to his spouse. There were no hugs given out much less a smile. He failed to give her even the most minimal sing of appreciation much less the emotional warmth she hungered for.
A Firewall is basically a security function which prevents our systems from attacks. That is it acts as wall between our system and remote attackers and makes it difficult for attackers to attack. It is set of related programs which is located at network gateway server which protects private networks from any other network users. . It is set of rules that determine whether packets are safe or not. It protects from viruses, worms and hackers who are trying to attack network through the Internet. Any computer in the world needs Firewall because these play a major role in keeping computer network secure and safe from attacks.
