In order to answer the research question, some facts about the topic should be settled. One out of three citizens of the USA know someone who has been shot. On average, 31 Americans are killed with guns every day and 151 are seeking for a treatment in an emergency room because of a gun assault. Every day, around 46 people are either being murdered or shot. If an individual is having a gun in his/her household, it is 22 times more likely to be used to murder or harm in a family murder, suicide, or accidental gunfire, rather than to be used in self-protection.
