I considered it irritating to be asked by a teacher to rewrite something they have not read and explicitly state the revision should look completely different from the original. Then I realized the essay was a constant series of revisions as I worked towards a paper I would be satisfied to submit for a grade. I would like to share the evolution of my essay from my rough draft to the final draft I submitted to Brainfuse and finally through the completed revision.
First, upon completing my essay, I utilized Word’s grammar and spelling proofing, correcting a few tiny errors such as typos and removing extra spaces after punctuation. Knowing that I tend to write in a passive voice, I focused this phase of on rewriting the many passive sentences in my essay and inserting transitional phrases to better lead the reader to the next point I wanted to make. In my opinion, this phase primarily benefited the reader by showing a better organization of my thoughts and making it easier to follow my chain of thought.
Again, I submitted my essay to paperrater. While my score had improved I was still not content with the assessment so; I decided to dig deeper correcting some the mechanic errors of my writing. Here I discovered my essay had numerous short sentences and the majority of my sentence structures were very similar. So, I focused on combining sentences where possible to create a varied length of sentences as well as varying the complexity of sentence beginnings.
Finally, paperrater provided the grade of an A that I was working towards achieving. Now, I was ready to submit my paper for grading. This was when I discovered we had one additional step of submitting our essay to Brainfuse to have a tutor look over our paper before submitting them. I downloaded my paper and
