Analyzing my Beliefs
I believe that my beliefs greatly influence my behavior, as I am a hard worker and do not expect to have anything handed to me in life. I grew up without a lot and as a result, I learned that if one wants something in life they must work to get what they want and because of this, I have learned to work hard for what I wanted in life.
I also believe in honesty and loyalty and it is rare that you will find me venturing away from either belief. I am very loyal in my marriage and to my family and friends and they will be the first to tell you that I am very honest as well. I find it hard to respect anyone that is not loyal to the person that they have married or two friends that have put their trust in them. Although, in this day and time it is hard to find a loyal and honest people, therefore I chose my friends very carefully and there are only a few that I entrust with my secrets.
I also enjoy learning new things and usually am the first to volunteer learning a new task or technique at work. In addition, I love to travel to different places and learn new cultures and very uncomfortable when exploring new places.
I believe in God and as a result, I have learned not to be judgmental and respect the differences in life as God has put us all on this earth for a reason, therefore when meeting someone that is different from me I take it as an opportunity to embrace who they are and learn something from this person.
If you read all of my beliefs and roll them into one that is probably why I have chosen to work at a college. Every one of them can be attained where I work as one will certainly work hard, learn new things, be exposed to a variety of people, and constantly be challenged to update their skills as...

Conclusion
I believe that everyone's beliefs affect his or her leadership style to some extent. For instance, I feel that if the people that I am leading are working hard then as a leader I should be working just as hard as they are working. In addition, since I place such a high value on honesty and respect, I know as a leader that I must give the same to my followers to receive it back. In addition, since I am a saver as a leader I will be mindful of using company resources and will expect the same of my followers. Lastly, as a person I am non-judgmental, I will be the same with my followers as I will not judge them based on thing that I do not have control over such as lifestyle and their beliefs.
Throughout this class, we learned that leadership can be defined in many ways by different authors. The definitions depend on many things and different variables. One way of we can attempt to define is through characteristics of the leader, the followers, and the situation (Yukl, 2013). Yukl, 2013 defines leadership as being “the process of influencing others to understand and agree about what needs to be done and how to do it, and the process of facilitating individual and collective efforts to accomplish shared objectives” (Yukl, 2013 p.7). The character of the leader influences situations and followers in different ways. The characteristics of the followers also call for a different type of leadership style
“They’ve done it before and they did it tonight and they’ll do it again and when they do it-seems that only the children weep.” (Lee-285) Ideas have not been engraved in children’s heads which allows them to see the world as a bright, confusing place. I chose Scout as the character for my memory box because she tells “To kill A Mockingbird” with a sweet child’s view. She does not understand why there are prejudices and why some people are treated different than others. School, Atticus, and the courtroom taught Scout many lessons that she will never forget. The memory box itself is Mrs.Dubose’s candy box that she had given to Jem. For readers to see the book in an innocent, childish way during the 1930’s must have changed the way many people felt about how the country treated African Americans. Harper Lee made a very wise decision to tell this amazing story through the eyes of a child.
My style of leadership according to the quiz by Cherry (n.d.) is participative leadership which is a type of leadership that engages the members of the team to participate in decision making and problem solving while the leader makes the final judgment in the deliberation process. This style of leadership allows members who are experts in their fields provide input to reach a more effective and accurate decision. This fits exactly into my leadership style. I always believed that in every aspect there is a greater or lesser person than you are, so, why not focus on the best in others and tap on their expertise in knowledge or skill to get the best results.
...ram, I have also learned that it takes a combination of leadership styles and taking scenarios case by case to perform as an effective leader. My preferences would be a combination of transformational and transactional leadership. Since I work in processing, the transactional part of my leadership will have to be there, but I would strive to add leading with integrity, a shared vision, and being humble among staff members. I hold myself accountable just as I would with other team members. I understand that this approach will not always work, because situations will change and call for different types of leadership, but for the most part a combination of transactional and transformational leadership would be the most effective in the majority of situations at work.
Leadership styles reflect a manner and approach of providing direction, implementing plans, and motivating people. Traditionally, effective leadership styles were thought of a one size fits all, leaders picked one approach and used it all situations. In today’s world, successful leaders recognize the style of leadership is relative to given situation, based on analyzing the employees and the organization. Leadership styles are most effective when the actions of a leader reflect what is best for individuals and the organization, simultaneously. Leadership styles ultimately affect human behavior, and according to James G. Clawson, change occurs at three levels: Level one leadership is focused on visible behavior patterns.
There has been debate over what constitutes a leader so there is no wonder that the styles of leaders vary. Leaders must be able to motivate, mentor, coach and inspire others to reach organizational goals. Leadership style is the manner and approach of providing direction, implementing plans, and motivating people (Medina, 2011). All leaders of effective groups have four characteristics in common. First, they provide direction and meaning to the people they are leading and are responsible for keeping team members aware of important stated goals and objectives (Howard, 2005). Second, they generate trust by acting in an honest manner that creates an environment of trust (Howard, 2005). Third, they prefer action and risk taking and are willing to operate outside of the norm (Howard, 2005). Lastly, they are communicators of hope by using effective communication skills, leaders encourage others to believe that the expected behavior will result in successful realization of stated goal (Howard, 2005). A leader can be effective or ineffective depending on the situation because a leader's style is based on personality. My leadership style consists of servant-leader, transactional and transformational leadership. As a devout Christian, I was astonished that many of the servant-leadership character traits are easily defined in Christianity’s stewardship. I incorporate each of these styles in my daily interactions with my direct reports.
Leaders come forth depending on the kind of situation, in which they are need. This type of leadership is typically known as “situational leadership,” where the key concept is every situation is different, so each situation requires a specific, unique leader. For a person to be a great leader, one does not have to necessarily assume a “bossy” persona, which is stereotypically characterized with all leaders, but being a leader based on listening. Being this background leader is known to many as, “servant leadership.” Servant and situational leadership is how I can characterize my leadership style so far since I have joined the student leadership community at Hillwood High School.
Three primary leadership styles are participative, delegative and authoritarian. I have more of the leader ship style or participative. I Love for everyone to put some effort into every group work project of life project I have. I’m not the type of person to leave someone out. Participative is
...ent opinions. Many studies have been done and know one still knows what makes a true leader. We are far from finding conclusive answers to them. Even those individuals with extensive knowledge of leadership research may be poor leaders. Leadership does not occur without followers, and followership is an easily neglected component of the leadership process. Leadership is everyone business and everyone responsibility. Thinking about leadership can help a person become a better leader than you are right now. In conclusion, my opinion is as follows. The leadership process is a total learning process. We all are leaders in our own way at different times in our lives. For example a father or mother with children, their children look to them for guidance. They also learn their values and about their culture through them. That is having leadership abilities. Friends look to each other for advice and different experiences that each of them have done. Some people perform leadership acts on the daily basis and don´t even realize it until they think about it or until someone brings it to their attention. That´s why it´s said that a part of learning about leadership is to always think about it.
Leaders are characterized by their traits. These are sought by their followers. The followers look for honesty, integrity, compassion, drive, determination and a vast array of other traits, which set a leader out from the crowd. Being treated fairly and with empowerment can make admirers follow a leader into almost any situation.
There are four styles of leadership, the first is the autocratic leader. This leader makes all the decisions and the followers have no freedom to disagree. For example, musicians in an orchestra. Another leadership
Integrity defines us as a person and all actions we make in life can define your belief system. Ever since i was young, honesty has always been a big part of my life. Growing up I've always tried to be the best I could be as a son, brother, and friend. I strive to be the kind of person others want to be like and I always try to be truthful because being honest, I believe, gets you farther in life than lying. I sincerely believe lying will always in some way or
I have had the opportunity to work with leaders of different styles, and by just watching them, listening to them and seeing how the staff reacts; I can gauge what is productive with their staff. I try not to copy or mimic their style and ensure my own style comes through in being consistent, authentic and genuine. I feel by following these traits they give me necessary foundation and help me towards achieving leadership excellence.
There are a few different types of well known leadership styles, authoritarian, delegative, and democratic. To assess my leadership style I used two online tests to help me determine my style. I felt the results were accurate and I fall into a democratic style/participative style. If I am leading I prefer to include the group and get their feedback on solving issues. However, I still make the final decision after listening to the thoughts of the group on a particular topic. This is considered to be a positive style of leadership that is inspiring to the group involved. The leaders decision making tends to be more accurate due to the input of other experts. (Cite)
The thought of that the way leadership is being made based on characteristics is called, “Trait theory of leadership”. The leader as a person needs to be creative, original, and inspired behind the movement of the company. By doing this it can further help the leader as a person have new ideas and create more contributions to the organization the leader is in charge of and while having these characteristics they should be able to be organized, dependable, and be an achiever. Their personality should also be talkative, very social, and outgoing; this will help them move forward the most. Finally, another point that helps me from my definition of a leader is most of all a leader needs to be trustful, tolerant, kind and this will help them be a great person to get along with. Without trust in the leader nobody will follow someone who cannot be trusted because the leader will look as if they will not accomplish
