The Last of the Mohicans is a movie that takes place in the French-Indian war. Is a valuable historical movie, because it tells how people used to live in that era, and it narrates an actual historic event. This movie challenged what I used to believe about this period in history, it made me realize that sometimes our avarice could make us end up in a bad situation, just as the British and the French.

Feelings change throughout the film. At first, Major Duncan Heyward asked one of Colonel Munro’s daughters, Cora, to marry him. She says no. Then she meets Hawkeye, and falls in love with him. And Duncan seems to not care about her anymore, but later on the movie, he shows his love for her when he sacrifices himself to save her. The French never saw in their best interests to ally and support the British because they thought they were going to win the war, and they didn’t want to share, they wanted the land for their own. Machismo was present in the film, an example of it is that Colonel Munro didn’t want his daughters to be involved in the war, maybe it was just because they were his daughters and he wanted to protect them, but maybe if they would have been men, he would have sent them to fight in the war, also, Colonel Munro asked a lot of men to take care of Alice and Cora, which is stereotypical, because he’s assuming that women are not capable of doing things by themselves and that they need men in order to survive. Something that seems to be accurate in the film is the war between the French and the British, maybe the love story was fake, but based on history books you can tell that the war did
