Because of technology which is defined as the organization of ideas for practical use, people are able to invent and produce machines that have made work less tedious. Twenty years ago, people use their hands to make coffee. But now, coffee machines are everywhere. Similarly, communication through mobile devices has replaced letter writing. In the fast-paced world, humankind continues to find ways in which they can perform simple tasks in just a snap. By the next fifty years, it will not be impossible to invent machines that would have a mind of their own. In fact, robots that can perform various tasks are already existing at the present.

The setting of the film is in the year 3085 when humans have already abandoned the earth. They transferred their habitat to a spaceship wherein people were portrayed as overweight to the point where they cannot walk by their legs. They are dependent on chairs that move along the spaceship. The role of the characters in this film would be used to dig into the deeper issues of technology concerning social skills, health and human labor. Although the movie also exhibits other issues such as environmental problems, the study will not dwell on them. Furthermore, the researcher will not use every scene of the movie to analyze the issues involved, rather only selected scenes that directly manifest the issues covered in the three areas mentioned will be examined. Information from the review of related literature will be used to present the current situation of the interaction of humans and technology. Only the relevant data will be used to reiterate in the data analysis. The misuse of technology by disregarding the natural human capacity to move and perform simple tasks will be discussed in the movie. Therefore, although technology is discussed in a broad sense, the technology which is helpful for humans and is not directly causing issues when misused is not covered in the study.
