In this movie, it indicates strong traditional heterosexuality, and it reflects the gender roles about submission and dominance, which leads to gender inequality through misinformation. There should be emotional supports and protections. The couple should communicate with each other and care about each other. It’s not a comparison about who is inferior or superior, as both people should take responsibilities. More importantly, if a relationship turns traumatizing or malicious, the side of victims should consider leaving immediately to prevent getting entrapped in a vicious cycle both physically and psychologically, just like what Ana has done in the movie; her courage and instinct are what I should learn from her. A lot of women get trapped in their relationships, even under the incredible abuse of domestic violence and psychological torments, they often become silent and fail to acknowledge their abusive environment and will continue to find excuses just to cope through the day; that is something I should not tolerate, as no loving relationships would thrive when one party takes complete control over the other one.

Overall the film was a very informative film for a more homophobic audience. The content was relatable and connected well with the information and discussions that have been within our society for a long time. It was a well-done film that really questions the homophobic opinions and while this is still a very real debate in today’s society the film does a great job at arguing the homophobic opinions.

Inside the note read sexual questions such as, “Have you ever touched it? Have you ever done it?”. Questions like these show how sexual interests and desires arise during these years of adolescence. These female leads often have male love interests, looking to get married or get pregnant. Healthy relationships involve mutual respect in contrast to unhealthy relationships when the abuser uses violence to solve every problem. Abusive relationships can go undetected until it is too late. There are many reasons why both men and women stay in abusive relationships. Victims stay with their abusers because they are mentally dependent, and afraid for their lives. Also, if children are involved, they don’t want them to be without a father. Furthermore, learning about the Social Learning Theory, we need to stop the violence before it becomes a pattern in the family. If this behavior continues, an on-going cycle of violence could easily carry on for generations to come.

It has become one of my favorite movies because I feel like I can relate to the topic very much because I wish I was just able to let go and do what I really want to do. Everyone has his or her own opinion of things so you should see the movie and see how you react to it.
