Most of the questions asked by Orthodox couples, medical professionals and others interested in this topic, stem from the reasoning that when using Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART), it is not a natural way to conceive a child. (Encyclopedia) The Orthodox Jewish people believe there are three partners involved in creating another human life: a mother, a father and God (Niddah 31a). Along with the new technology comes an added partner, a physician. (nishmas avrahaam)

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine involving the insertion of super fine needles superficially into the skin to correct the energy flow in the body. Many people believe this practice is painful, while others see it as a waste of time, or useless. Testimonials prove this to be false, but those who have not tried the practice are skeptical. The long history of acupuncture has lead to many misconceptions about the process. There are many benefits to acupuncture that can be shown through an understanding of its process.
The article by Christine Overall, "New Reproductive Technology," discusses the issue of abortion and the new technology involved in abortions. The article makes the case that the fetus is not in the ownership of the parents, therefore when an abortion takes place the embryo should be preserved for future use. This embryo could be used at a later time by the parents, or others can adopt it.
Many researchers have found that acupuncture effectively relieves pain and illness with the equine species. Hunley and Huisheng conducted research to find out the opinions and current use of acupuncture, and they discovered that many diseases are treated such as musculoskeletal problems, neoplasia, general pains, and behavioral issues (p. 57, 2011), which another researcher addresses when using acupuncture in equine reproduction. Scholfield uses acupuncture to help improve the behavioral issues of stallions to help the breeding process (Schofield, 2008). The author not only uses acupuncture to improve the behaviors of stallions, but improves many of the physiological factors of the mare. Acupuncture improves the reproductive hormones, including the gonadotrophin releasing hormone (Schofield, 2011). It also increases the fertility rates. After treatment, 81 percent of the mares had a successful foaling (Schofield, 2011). Agreeingly another researcher used acupuncture to heal sarcoids, similarly to the use of acupuncture for reproduction. Sarcoid are wart-like lesions that form in the subcutaneous and muscular tissues (Thoresen, p. 29, 2011). The use of the acupuncture reduced the size of 14 out of the 18 equine patients in the experiment that Thoresen conducted (Thoresen, p. 30, 2011). The sarcoids are extremely painful and the acupuncture is an effective way to relieve the animals of pain,
Fertility is through normal sexual activity or unprotected sex for a year, the ability a couple has to produce a child. Fertility problems are faced by 2.1 million couples. What many people don’t know is that fertility affects women and men equally. For couples with no fertility problems, they don’t realize how fortunate they are. Hundreds of factors must come together to have a successful pregnancy. To become pregnant, an egg has to be released from a woman’s ovary, which is called ovulation. Then, a man’s sperm and a woman’s egg must meet, this process is called fertilization. After that, the fertilized egg must travel through a woman’s fallopian tubes and attach to the uterus wall, which is called implantation. Now, if you were like me you thought it just happened right? I mean you know what is involved to get there but you never really realized how many steps it took. Well if just one of those steps are off, a woman won’t be able to become pregnant.
...l position in the womb" (4). Altogether, acupuncture has withstood the test of time; not necessarily the test of criticism. The procedure seems to work sometimes, and so it has not been falsified. It seems very beautiful, ancient and creative, and so it is left alone as a non-conventional medical alternative. But there should be more studies done on the subject, especially to prevent people from depending on it because of a desire to be all-natural. This is not reason enough to abandon centuries of experience and of scientists getting it "less wrong". Acupuncture is a possible treatment – but not a perfect one.
For most of people, the only way to conceive a child is through sexual intercourse between a man and a woman by contributing the egg and the sperm into a woman’s womb. In a common practice, this is the only way on how to conceive a child. However, since the growing of time, with parenthood changing all thanks to the assisted reproductive technology (ART), the usual norm of conceiving a child has changed dramatically over the past decades. Lewis Vaughn describes this process to “address the agonizing problem of infertility and the powerful desire that many people have for their children of their own, especially children with whom they have a biological link” (Vaughn 392). The methods of reproductive technology is always understood under the scientific world, nonetheless, it remains a controversial topic within people.
