The above data revealed that female migration are more than the males’ migrants in developing countries. Hence feminization of migration has been noticeable in recent time. Feminization of migration means more female migrants migrating from their native place. There is increase in female migrants all over the world which is visible by the world wide data which reveals that till 1960 women migration were 47 percent which increased by 2 percent and it is 49 percent till 2010. The 14th issue of the report titled “Women and men in India-2012” published on October 31, 2012 states that rural female migration is high (47.7%) as compared to males (5.4%). The term ‘feminization of migration’ is being used frequently in recent years. The term misleads as it suggests a complete increase in proportion of women migrants. In current scenario women are migrating independently to take a job instead of depending on family dependents. The increasing mobility in almost all regions of the world make the feminization of migration more tangible. The ‘feminization of poverty’ and ‘feminization of work’ are two other revolutions that are paralleled by the feminization of migration. Feminization of migration increases the migration of women as domestic workers, nannies which leads to trafficking of women for labour and sexual exploitation. Migration of people is mostly the result of inadequate economic and social opportunities in the original place. The main reasons for migration are poverty and need to support family. Along Ruth poverty, inequality between men and women are the powerful factors which influences the women migration. The female migration occurs mostly at intermediate state of economic development.
