Despite the fact that fast foods have faced criticism due to their negative effects, the fast food industry is growing day by day. Mainly, people claim that fast food is unhealthy and contains a lot of sugar, sodium, fat, tremendous amount of chemicals, and significant amount of calories that tend to do the human body more harm than benefit it. However, the dark truth is that fast food is a necessary evil. It is important, in our lives and they make life easier. As a result, there is a need to not only regulate the packaging of fast foods in order to control its effects but also to ensure that fast food industries put the health of their customers in mind. Therefore, since the fast foods will not go away in the near future, fast food industry needs to make their products healthier, put warning labels on them and control their advertisement. Ideally, promotion of fast foods needs to be regulated. Strom claims that substantial advertising of the fast foods, in the media, fast food outlets and in other avenues of advertisement has significantly increased the consumption of fast food products. D'eon and Mabury notes that fast food contain high fat content, sugars and calories, which results to an increase in body mass index as well as body weight (D'eon and Mabury 345). In fact, fast foods are blamed for the rise of obesity cases in United States. Despite this, Strothlic asserts that fast food will not only promote weight gain and increase calories intake, but also it elevates the risk for diabetes. Actually, fast food is unhealthy, and therefore, its promotion is similar to promoting unhealthy behavior. It is actually natural for human beings to be engaged in enjoyable activities. Essentially, although fast foods are advantageous, they are associated with harmful health effects. Mainly, after consuming these products for a long time, its dangers start to become evident. Promotion of the fast foods through media, fast food outlets and in other avenues of advertisement has increased consumption of the same. As a result, there is need to sensitize people of the fast food harmful effects, as well as campaign for production of healthier foods. Consequently, fast food industry needs to make their products healthier, put warning labels on them and control their advertisement.
