Recommended: career choice fashion designer

“Fashion is not necessarily about labels. It’s not about brands. It’s about something else that comes from within you” -Ralph Lauren (“Glamour” 1). Fashion designers are artists who work in apparel retails and other wholesale or manufacturing establishments, who create and design original apparel with their artistic abilities. These designers need an abundant amount of skills, such as active listening, critical thinking, active learning, coordination, and decision making, social perceptiveness, and speaking to pursue a career in fashion design (“Careeronestop” 2). The abilities needed to become a designer are also extremely important to possess when designing apparel and other accessories. However, there are some drawbacks of possessing a career in fashion design many reasons relating to time. A career in fashion design is very beneficial for someone who is creatively blessed, and has an eye for design and color schemes, and although this career may need long hours and hard work, it definitely pays off.
A fashion designer’s education is exceedingly significant to have when wanting to succeed in this specific career. Entry level of education in order to be a fashion designer is a bachelor’s degree. Fashion designers need bachelor’s degrees in fine arts, fashion design, or fashion merchandising (“Fashion Designers” 1). “In fashion design, employers usually seek individuals with a two to four year degree who are knowledgable about textiles, fabric,ornamentation, and fashion trends” (“Occupation Profile for Fashion Designers” 2).

...r hand, the long hours will be beneficial at the end of the day. The median pay for fashion designers is sixty two thousand eight hundred and sixty dollars yearly in the United States. As well as the profit, all artistic abilities put into the career do come back in the product. It’s all the talent put into the apparel and it shows when the product is completed. There may be drawbacks but the work that is put into it definitely shows at the end of the day.
In conclusion, fashion design is a very heavily weighted career, with long hours and many skills, abilities, and knowledge needed in order to be successful. Although that may be true, fashion designers change the world, they create new trends, new ideas, but more importantly, new ways of thinking. Fashion design is very beneficial for someone who is creatively blessed, and has an eye for design and color schemes.
