Family Integration Reflection I enjoyed reading the book on How to Stay Christian in Seminary. The book enlightened me with new information on how to include my family and friends while I am in seminary. It is very hard even though I am very close to my family, they depend on me all the time. I am a single parent with one son, two grandchildren and one on the way. I have four sisters and one brother who calls me every day and comes to visit every day. I also have two godmothers who I talk to every day so I am very busy ministering and socializing with my family. I love my family, but it is hard getting my assignments done because they are very needy.
Family into your Educational Experiences Mathis and Parnell enlightened me with some important information on how to include my family while I am in seminary. Parnell states, “I pushed my books aside and met my two little girls in their room.” [1] After reading Parnell statement, I begin to plan more effective time with my family. I wonder how I would be able to divide my time up with my family since I have so much reading to do and so many assignments. Sometimes, I become frustrated and wanted to quit. We both love the Lord and enjoy talking about his word. She encourages me when I want to give up and she continues to tell me about her experiences with God. I informed her that I had been called to ministry by God and I was willing to take that walk with God. I told her how much I love the Lord and his people. I also told her I wanted to make a difference in the lives of people by preaching and teaching God’s word. I ask her did she have any questions and was she willing to go on the journey with me.
