Family Before Law

Unsuspected murderers, gangbangers, abusers, and molesters dishonor their families by committing indescribable crimes, and typically, these families move in order to start a new life without prejudice. Instead of families relocating, however, families can kill the members in their family that disobeyed the law in order to regain respect. Going through the process of finding prosecutors, jury members, and paying for jail time before the trial, wastes taxpayer dollars. The government can literally not afford to spend these taxpayer dollars with a seventeen trillion dollar debt. Instead, let family members decide whether or not to carry out justice as they are victims of the crimes too. The victim's families and the family of the criminal deserve to live in peace, and they can do this through honor killings and the phrase “an eye for an eye.”
People kill for many reasons; whether is it out of anger, embarrassment, fear, desperation, mercy, or disobedience of religion. “The rights of our parents are that we obey them but this obedience is not blind, deaf and dumb.” (Zuberi). In Islam women must obey their parents and husbands. Every year thousands of women are killed for leaving or denying an arranged marriage. Arranged marriages are set up by the parents of the woman; whereas, forced marriages happen by coercion. Some methods of coercion by parents include: threats, blackmail, fraud, bribes, and parents not speaking to their child for month on end. If a woman refuses an arranged marriage the parents feel that the daughter has disgraced them and the future spouse and his family. Parents of the daughter who refused the marriage feel that killing their daughter would stop her from marrying someone else and bring back the family name.
