Explain the Responsibility of the Human Resources Department
Within any business the Human Resources department is a vital
functional area. The department’s main role is to ensure the welfare
of employees and make sure any problems are resolved quickly and
efficiently whether internal or external. Although this is the main
function of the department there are also a number of other roles the
Human Resource department handles within a business:
Ø Development and monitoring employee appraisal system
Ø Overseeing industrial relations
Ø Dealing with disciplinary
Ø Paying Salaries
Ø Redundancy
Ø Training and development
Ø Recruitment and selection
All the above are typical functions carried out by the human resources
department, as they are clearly linked to employees and problems they
may have. Although the above are typical functions carried out by the
human resources department there are sometimes other functions that
are specific to certain businesses that have to be dealt with when
they arise.
HSBC
I will be studying a part of HSBC that was formally known as Merrill
Lynch. Merrill Lynch was set up in 2001 and aimed to revolutionise the
way in which investors banked. In July 2002 HSBC took over 100% of the
ownership of Merrill Lynch and it was now part of the HSBC group. The
telephone call centre that was opened near Leamington Spa’s ‘Spa Park’
created hundreds of jobs for people in the surrounding areas.
Throughout this project I will be studying the functions of the human
resources department at HSBC in Leamington Spa.
HSBC have many internal departments, which mean that communication
within the company is vital. Each of these departments depend heavily
upon one anther in the day-to-day running of the business. When
recruiting HSBC must ensure that they have a clear strategy that they
follow throughout the recruitment and selection process. As they
employ a large number of people it is important that they select the
right people first time due to the costs associated with recruitment
and selection.
When HSBC needs to recruit a large number of people they use agencies
to help reduce the administration work for the human resources
department and generally get the job done more efficiently.
Unemployment within Leamington Spa is at record lows, and for that
reason HSBC need to make sure they offer appealing positions with
attractive salaries to recruit successfully. This can be done through
newspaper advertisements and HSBC need to ensure that in these
advertisements they portray the company image in a positive light.
As the human resources department covers a large amount of tasks and
functions I have decided to cover the main activities that are most
important to the organisation.
Ø The Working Environment
The ‘Teacup Ballet’ is one of the first and best artworks Olive Cotton has exhibited outside Australia. It was created in 1935, a Gelatin Silver, 37.3cm x 29.6cm, photograph. Six identical teacups are laid out precisely, they each have pointed, triangular handles and slender bodies. Each teacup is placed on a circular saucer. In the centre, background two teacups are placed diagonally to each other, their handles pointing in the same direction, on the left hand side. In the middle ground, three teacups are placed in a diagonal line, parallel to teacups in the background. This time the teacup handles all point to the right hand side. In the foreground, right hand corner, there stands alone one teacup, its handle facing towards the left, pushed a little more inward, than the others. In the background, there is a light shining through lighting up the teacups, and shadows are formed. A curved line is also shaped contrasting the light from dark.
We also like using the massage therapist website builders on the national massage therapy organization that we listed in our article "Build Your Own Therapist Website". They come free with membership after all! More to the point they work well for the individual therapists who is on a limited budget. Many of us have our students begin to build their web sites while still in school now, it is usually a part of a class on the business of massage therapy.
With a high success rate, our integrated intelligence-led approach drives smarter services and provides clients with absolute confidence in the efficiency and effectiveness of our services with improved results that make our services better value by design. Furthermore, our solicitors are well positioned to achieve payment through pre-litigation services, with the majority of our cases settled before matters progress to the Court system - the fact that you have a law firm like Harrison Bryce behind you is often enough to show you mean business.
This research task and practical is performed with the aim of investigating the formation of esters through the reaction between different alcohols with carboxylic acids and discussing their usage as
Many routes are available for organic esters synthesis. The traditional route for preparing esters is via reaction of the carboxylic acid with an alcohol using homogeneous catalysts such as sulfuric acid or para-toluene-sulfonic acid4,5,6. Esterification can take place without adding catalysts due to weak acidity of carboxylic acids themselves. However, the reaction is extremely slow and requires long time to reach equilibrium at typical reaction conditions7. A common method of operating equilibrium limited reactions is to...
Lipase is enzymes that speed up the reaction of breaking fat into fatty acids and glycerol. Lipase can be found in different kind of industry. It can be found in dairy industry, by lipase is used to break down the milk fats and give different flavour into the cheese. Those flavour came from when lipase turn fats into fatty acid. Lipase that are use to react is from the microbial that create bacteria. The bacteria that are created will create the lipase to react on product. Another object that are use to create the reaction to make cheese is the mild lipase power that included the lipase inside. The mild lipase will also help speed up the reaction of breaking down fats into fatty acids that can stronger the flavour of the products.
Increased brand value: Yes, you heard it right. A smart web booking engine helps the hotel to boost its brand value as it ensures that the hotel is available for booking all the time.
An organizational human resources department utilizes the hiring and firing process to meet the organization’s personnel needs. Organizational human resource departments are charged with the oversight of an organizations administration department. The practice of hiring and firing people is a process employer’s conducts on a daily basis. This process has to be done in a proper manner and not in haste. The implication that can occur from the improper hiring and firing process could and can have a positive or negative impact on an organization. Therefore, employers must carefully evaluate their decision to hire/fire individuals and its impact on the organizations’ workplace environment and others employees. Human Resource Management is important for an effective organization. In today’s organization, HRM is valuable to the organization because of increase legal complexities and its known for improvement in productivity. However, management should realize that poor human resource management could result in an outburst of hiring process followed by firing or layoffs. According to (Satterlee 2013, p. 194), “Hiring the best candidate who is also a good fit for the organization is crucial for the success of an organization, because a poor hiring decision will have repercussions across the entire organization”. Satterlee made a valid point because poor hiring could have an impact on the bottom line performance of the firm. In other words, HRM is the contributing factor to the success of the organization including motivating and maintain the staffs. The purpose to the motivation is to ensure that all employees grow to a full potential. According to (Sims 2006, p. 5), “HRM efforts are planned, systematic approaches to increasing organizati...
Lipases form an essential part of the industries range from dairy, agrochemical and detergents to oleo-chemicals, tea industries, and in numerous bioremediation processes. The potential for marketable utilization of a microbial lipase is firm by its yield, stability, activity, and other distinctiveness (Shu, Jiang et al. 2010). Because of the huge applications, newer microbes are to be screen for production of lipases having wanted properties. The considerate of the study will facilitate us to tailor new lipases for biotechnological applications (Verma, Thakur et al.).
If you want to use it for free then you can still have some specific and important features like: Theme updates, Usage on multiple domain, use in commercial project, and support forum.
Lipases are particularly important due to the fact that they specifically hydrolyze acyl glycerol, oils and greases, which is of great interest for different industrial applications.
Mediterranean Basin was always known for its suitable climate and soil parameters for olive trees. Thus, the highest amount of olive oil production is based exactly in this region. During last decades Spain is the world`s top producer and exporter of olive oils and table olives, with more than 300 million of olive trees on its lands (Country profile-IOC, 2013). Most of the production accounts to the area of Andalusia.
The above discussion outlines some of the very few reasons for governments commence on Alternative service delivery mechanisms to ensure better service delivery. This was attained by explaining a few vital concepts in alternative service delivery , while giving a better understanding of what Alternative service delivery is. This essay also recognized the roles played by voluntary associations and private contractors in Alternative service delivery mechanisms. In addition, this essay illustrated the concept of alternative service delivery mechanisms by employing e-governance, that is the use of modern technology in the public sector to create a better communication between the government and civil society while also empowering civil society.
Whether an organization consists of five or 25,000 employees, human resources management is vital to the success of the organization. HR is important to all managers because it provides managers with the resources – the employees – necessary to produce the work for the managers and the organization. Beyond this role, HR is capable of becoming a strong strategic partner when it comes to “establishing the overall direction and objectives of key areas of human resource management in order to ensure that they not only are consistent with but also support the achievement of business goals.” (Massey, 1994, p. 27)
