This month we get to learn a little bit about Carlton Hill who has been described as level headed, easy going and a reliable friend. I find Carlton to have a very calming and pleasant presence about him, which is very refreshing! Carlton was born in Shulerville, South Carolina, which is where he grew up and continues to live today. Growing up, he actually wanted to be a mortician! He attended Macedonia High School, the class of 96’. A portion of his time in high school was spent playing football and participating in the chorus. He has also attended Trident Tech with a focus in Electrical. Carlton has been married to his wife Nartarsha for about 7 years now. The film Welcome to Leith was directed by Michael Beach Nichols and Christopher K. Walker. This film was based on a small town in North Dakota where everyone knew everyone. It was less of a town and more of a family, until Craig Cobb moved in. Craig Cobb was a white supremacists and neo-Nazi. His plan was to take over the town and make it his own. I believe everyone should be treated the same, and it shouldn’t matter what they believe or how they look. This film also shows how police can and should do more about protecting citizens.

Flatland We are brought up thinking that everyone shares our views and that they are correct and the only right way of seeing things. In Flatland, a novel by Edwin A. Abbott, two men from different dimensions argue about which one of their societies is right and more superior. They accomplish nothing because each is so closed- minded to the fact that what they have known all their lives may be wrong. This is the case when it comes to homosexuality in today's world or anything that involves looking, acting, and thinking differently than us. A. Square and the Monarch of Lineland are closed-minded to the possibility ofthere being other worlds or multiple ways to seeing things different from their own.
The Moccasin Bluff Site is located along Red Bud Trail and the St. Joseph River north of Buchanan, Michigan. This archaeological site is protected by a half-circle of hills to the north, west and south with a radius close to 2000 feet. Because of its archaeological historic significance, the site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. People have lived on the terrace between Moccasin Bluff and the St. Joseph River for eight thousand years. The first inhabitants stayed in small temporary camps as early as 6300 B.C. Then in 500 A.D. the natives traded with groups in Indiana and Illinois. It was not until 600 to 900 years ago that the area was had farms and more permanent villages.

Rising from the Plains by John McPhee is about an influential geologist, John David Love, interpreting the geologic history of Wyoming. The surface area of Wyoming has been subjected to many geological formations from the rise of the Rocky Mountains through the Laramide Orogeny in late Cretaceous time to the deep structural basin known as the Jackson Hole with rock dating back to the Precambrian period. Throughout each time period of the Earth’s history, the surface of Wyoming has experienced significant changes that have affected the physical landscape, as well as living organisms, even to this day. In summary reflexivity relates to judgements made from one's own personal experiences. By being reflexive and recognising that I am part of the research data and through exploring my own practice with the intention of understanding my practice, I show how I am part of the research. With this new knowledge I continue knowing differently that my story is my data and as such the application of reflection/reflexivity, in such a way as Bolton, Freire and Cuncliffe suggests, will make it all the richer and more valuable.
There has been much examination of the more popular terms used in American literature, such as romanticism and classicism, but little examination done on literary realism. Despite realism being mostly ignored in the late nineteenth century, it has now become commonplace in American literature. Although An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge by Ambrose Bierce does offer some examples of literary realism in its verisimilitude of detail and idealism, there were also many instances of fantastical imagery and an unrealistic sense of time, which is contradictory to literary realism.
Since I have arrived here at Lambing Flats, nothing has changed. I am still facing the same discrimination I have been for a while and I am still judged every day under their harsh eyes. It seems as if all of Australia is against us. They publish mean cartoons about us (See Appendix 1) that poke fun, no, not just poke - disrespect and make fun of us in every way. They make fun of the way we talk, walk, dress and look! Half of these things are out of my control, so what am I meant to do? I have heard that in places other than here, we are actually accepted. Well, at least not discriminated against. In Cooktown and Cairns, we are accepted, and there is still gold there too! Even in other places other than here, not everyone discriminates against
On September 9th, 2017 at approximately 7 p.m., I went to Gracedale Public Park to carefully conduct my observation on the individuals, who were at the park and their specific activities in the one hour of time. When I got there, the weather was beautiful with soft winds, a clear sky and with some dim sunlight. The park was full of people of all ages. Though, there were more kids than adults and some teenagers. There were many bicycles and strollers parked beside the tree I sat under. After a couple of minutes, the park filled up with more and more individuals and everyone seemed busy doing their own actions.
Standing on the balcony, I gazed at the darkened and starry sky above. Silence surrounded me as I took a glimpse at the deserted park before me. Memories bombarded my mind. As a young girl, the park was my favourite place to go. One cold winter’s night just like tonight as I looked upon the dark sky, I had decided to go for a walk. Wrapped up in my elegant scarlet red winter coat with gleaming black buttons descending down the front keeping away the winter chill. Wearing thick leggings as black as coal, leather boots lined with fur which kept my feet cozy.
Selling one’s soul for fame is not a new expression in today’s society. This term often refers to the music industry’s lack of individualistic rights for the artist. Throughout the history of music there have always been companies that have monopolized the market. Although the music industry of America has some what evolved as artists take more liberties with their own music. South Korea on the other hand is at a point in which the artists have less freedom to take control of their careers. Some refer to the contracts the artist make with the company as 'slave contracts'. These type of contracts define not only the image of the artist but how many years they are to be with the company. Although, others say that this is the price of stardom and being committed to their dream. This controversy is only a small part of the overarching model of how the Korean pop music industry works.
I think we all have a beautiful place in our mind. I have a wonderful place that made me happy a lot of times, years ago. But sometimes I think that I am the only person who likes this place and I'm asking myself if this place will be as beautiful as I thought when I will go back to visit it again. Perhaps I made it beautiful in my mind.
