Americans Benefit from Volunteerism
Volunteerism is extremely beneficial to many Americans across the country. Volunteerism helps people in various ways that you may have never thought of before. Not only does volunteerism help the intended people, but the volunteers as well. People gain so much by volunteering. Volunteers are able to grow in many ways you might think are unattainable through their work.
Some people may crave the feeling of being needed or wanted; that may be the motive for why they volunteer. According to a recent found study, volunteerism keeps adults healthy and happy (Nauert par ). Normally people would assume volunteerism would only benefit those we volunteer for; the article "Volunteerism Helps older adults stay happier, healthier," by Rick Nauert, states otherwise, that this is not the case. Helping others could lead volunteers to happiness, which in turn makes them healthy. "Feeling appreciated or needed as a volunteer appears to amplify the relationship between volunteering no psychosocial wellbeing," (Nauert par 7). Although the sole purpose of volunteerism is still valid, volunteerism also benefits others as well.

With time, people have become smarter and more creative, which is a very positive thing. "The efforts of everyday Americans are having an impact and millions are benefitting in the process" (Gandel 22). Volunteers have made such a great impact on people's lives. "With their creativity, problem-solving skills, and sheer determination, Americans are tackling serious alleges and changing the world" (Gandel 22). We as people, have so much power in this country enabling us to make positive changes in all of our lives. Our power can do so much more with volunteerism when put to good use.
