Neglect will annihilate your child’s overall future and mental health permanently. Some fictional characters that suffered from neglect, are Krystal in Who Hears the Fish Cry By Koma Fox Mazer, A young boy in Thank You ma’am by Langston Hughes, and Jim in The Kid Nobody Could Handle by Kurt Vonnegut. These characters have been neglected throughout their lives, in which impacts them severely as shown in the stories. Real situations in stories where the effect upon the child happens in real life. Krystal in Who Hears the Fish Cry By Koma Fox Mazer is a another great example. Krystal is a young teenage girl who had been left by her dad at the age 4. Making her grandmother move in and disciplining her along with her mother who has a drinking problem. Krystal enjoyed stealing as if it was apart of her. What she needed throughout her life after her dad had left was positive attention. She had always gotten into trouble by her grandmother and had almost never seen her mom. This had put a negative background on her that she could never clear. She was so desperate for attention, Krystal had tried for Mrs.Springer, Krystal’s fourth grade teacher, to even love and adopt her. This will put an extreme effect on a child if not shown love. The chances of your child stealing and having police records are high and could progress, if not shown that a parent cares. This would not only have negative impacts on your kid but also have one on your child's future. Police records will affect your child’s chances of getting a job and soon they would struggle the child financially.
