ICT stands for Information and communication technology. In educational institutions, ICT's are a range of tools meant for the purpose to aid teachers and learners in all areas of the curriculum. ICT, if used correctly, attempts to improve achievement, motivation and thinking across all subjects when used as learning tools. ICT enables the student to represent and construct their own understanding from the vast amounts of information that is available to them. Students would incorporate ICT to reflect, inquire, manage and access information to create ideas and evaluations that could be communicated with others.
With strong IT competencies, I regularly implement these technologies throughout the curriculum. Learning tasks are structured to provide for individual learning needs, the diversity of the students’ backgrounds and to optimise effective learning time. Within my previous practicums, I have used a range of teaching strategies that incorporate the use of information technologies (ICT). These include the use of technologies such as ‘Moodle’, ‘Learn 2 Teach’, ‘Desire 2 Learn’, interactive whiteboards, tablets and other digital equipment.
CTE courses were originally built to as a pathway to prepare students for industry endorsed certifications. ICTs have become a valuable tool to enhance teaching and learning in all schools. For teachers ICT is a professional resource, a mode of classroom delivery, and a source of valid and valuable text types. For students, ICT provides opportunities to communicate more effectively and to develop literacy skills. Because of its interactive and dynamic nature, ICT has the potential to meet the needs of individual students by providing opportunities to direct their learning and to pursue information, or complete tasks, in ways which meet their own interests and needs.
Cooperative groups will work face-to-face and will learn to work as a team. The multimedia project will allow all students to benefit from gaining a deeper knowledge of the multimedia matters through communication with their peers and building relationships among their peers of different ethnic, backgrounds, learning abilities and gender. Effective Use of Collaborative Learning in Academics The application of collaborative learning strategies is a process in which two or more students work together. Collaborative strategies will be used in planning, translating and reviewing the education process to form student learning through group-oriented activities. This source will also be useful in lesson planning to help explain how collaborative learning strategies in the classroom will help students in the learning process improve by interaction; how positive interdependence of collaborative learning leads to common responsibility; how collaborative learning builds students’ self-esteem, and confidence in students.
High academic standards in all core curriculum areas and accountability through assessment are an important aspect in the educational arena. E-learning would produce results that are meaningful to someone outside the classroom. An archive would be provided for students and teachers everywhere. These explain the idea’s for Shneiderman’s LEON in the new education, a part of the new computing. I agree with all parts of LEON. It would be an interest catching educational tool; Shneiderman proposes graphics and sound to captivate the student.
Technology demonstrates a vast impact on how well people will think, learn and interact. The development of technology involved in the classroom yields to advancement for communication and collaboration within the educational community. This involvement will focus on each group; students, parents, community and global community. Research over both is significantly increasing, which makes understanding the positive outcomes of implementing the two strategies imperative for educators. As most educators are aware, the key element to a pupil’s success lies in their motivation to achieve goals and be successful pupils; therefore by combining both student-centered learning strategies, such as cooperative learning and technology integration, student learning can be positively impacted. One way to incorporate both cooperative learning and technology integration into the classroom setting is through the use of Web 2.0 technologies, such as wikis, blogs, and podcasts.
