However, during that time my mother was involved in a severe car accident, and I decided to defer my place for a scholarship offer as a trainee at Joffrey Ballet School and later an apprentice position with State Street Ballet in California. I am truly grateful for these experiences because as a dancer your age limits your opportunities to get into a ballet company. Yet, after the two years ended, I was extremely excited to start schooling at Sarah Lawrence. My significant other, a successful Westmont alumni himself, recommended both colleges as excellent options for me. I flew to Sarah Lawrence one week later and spoke with my don, Philip Ording. He told me about my first-year studies course, and I knew it was a no-brainer not to come here since the course and Sarah Lawrence´s curriculum are exactly what I was looking for. Yet, I wanted to spend this year in California at Westmont College; after all, it seemed like home to me, and I wanted to be close to my friends and my significant other. Unfortunately, Westmont does not offer a dance major, most classes are not round table discussions, and I am not able to write interdisciplinary conference papers. I am still dancing around 12 hours outside of college, yet I am deeply looking forward to finally being enrolled in the dance college program at Sarah Lawrence. I want to eventually earn my master´s degree in dance and theater and possibly earn my PhD at the University of California, Riverside so that I can become a dance professor or chief of a university’s dance department in the long run. SLC would help me fulfill this goal while still being able to dive deeper into my love for psychology. I am passionate about writing and am looking forward to finally advancing my writing skills and writing conference papers. I am still in a happy relationship and am lucky to have the support of my family and loved one to attend my dream college, Sarah Lawrence. I can combine my interests in dance, psychology, and theatre, take advantage of internship opportunities in New York, study independently, spend one-on-one time with faculty, gain my prerequisites for graduate school, and write conference papers that will help me prepare best for my career and life. The experience at Westmont also
I had to go back to my country and come back to campus really feel the change I went through during the first year in college. I had to observe and interact with the first years to perceive the similarities between them and my old self, to see how I have changed and the extent to which humans are all alike. We might face the same struggles, but the ways we deal with them vary from person to person. I will try to tell my version of growing up in Lafayette.

I planned, coordinated and supervised the construction of a 35 Kilometer perimeter berm at FLB DOGWOOD, Iraq. This was the earliest complete fortifications around the perimeter of a base that housed more than eight thousand Soldiers. My engineering expertise was critical as units pursued the improvement of security of the Iraqi infrastructure in the Multi-National Division (South East) Area of Responsibility (AOR). I effectively mentored and worked with Base Defense Liaison Team of the 317th Rear Area Operations Center (RAOC). I provided guidance, oversight and design on perimeter Entry Control Points (ECPs) and conducted weekly checks and improvements to improve Force Protection (FP). I inspected mounted guard posts, initiated requests for
It was all fun and games until we heard the sirens. We went to the cops terrified that we were in so much trouble but we didn't know why, once the police told us we did nothing wrong, we all learned a very important lesson. Ask for permission before you do things. It was a bright sunny summer day in August and my friends and I went down to CMH high school to play football. Me and my friend were captains and we picked out teams. A couple of touchdowns later we heard the sirens “Wee-Woo Wee-Woo”,we were scared out of our minds.

Thumbs Out A girlfriend of mine once defended me to her father by saying, calmly, “Not everyone who wanders is lost.” The dad kicked me out of the house anyway. But the damage had been done. Not everyone who wanders is lost.
I wanted to continue my career abroad. Therefore, I made a detailed research and ended up going to the United States because of its worldwide reputation in academics. My initial research showed me that Southern part of United States would be most education friendly due to social, climate and financial reasons. Besides, a field like Public Administration requires one to be involved in a more diverse environment as it is any government’s job to provide service to its citizens from diverse background. Grambling State University, with its diverse environment and friendly atmosphere was the most suitable one. Due to this reason, after completing the English as Second Language Program of ELS center in Ruston, I applied to Grambling State University. At the beginning I was required to take some undergraduate level classes to improve my knowledge and skills. I have successfully completed fifteen cou...

In life, our journey does not always happen the way in which we anticipated it to happen. For me that was truer than ever during these last six months. Part of the unforeseen process was changing where I was conducting my internship obligations at. I officially started working as a business intern at the Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS) on Wednesday, January 20th after meeting and talking through a quasi-interview process with Executive Director Ms. Carol Berger in early January. As the name implies, PACS is located in Phoenixville, just west of the Schuylkill River on Church Street. I was able to acquire this internship with the help and support of my wonderful Mom, who collaboratively works with Carol (an MSW herself) to place Social Work students from Eastern into internships at PACS.
