This week in class, we were instructed to read about time management and the history of psychology as well as the different types. Only truly taking off in the late 19th century, psychology is one of the newer sciences. Wilhelm Wundt, who established the first psychology laboratory at the University of Leipzig in Germany, popularized psychology with his experiment of the mental process with a fellow classmate and professor. With well over 20 different types of psychology, it is one of the most rapidly growing sciences out there. It might be odd to say that psychology is a science, but it requires a person to question and perform experiments just like any other kind of science.

Both of my best friends were depressed and since people start to act the way others in their life are, I started to become depressed as well. I was constantly worried about them, so much so that it made me sick. It did not take very long before my parents decided I should see a psychologist. The type of psychologist I saw was a counseling psychologist. Counseling psychologists work to help people face challenges dealing with marriage, school, or even work. When I went to see the doctor I did not think about them being a scientist. Only after reading and researching about all the branches of psychology, could I finally grasp the fact that they are indeed scientists. The doctor had to learn how my brain functioned before they could make any suggestions on what I should do in order to make myself better. Ephesians 5:11 says, "Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them." God told Christ followers to not participate in any nonproductive activities. Psychologists are supposed to help make the patient 's bad, dark, and evil thoughts going through the patient 's mind
