Overall Observations Mrs. Smith arrived to her appointment on time, alone, appropriately dressed, and appeared to be her stated age of 54. Throughout the testing process, she was engaged, maintained good posture, eye contact, insight, understanding, awareness of issues, and discussed topics in an open manner. In addition, she spoke with a normal tone, rate, and volume. Mrs. Smith did not exhibit any issues with her hearing, vision, motor skills, or word finding. Her mood was calm and composed, which was congruent with her affect. In addition, she exhibited a logical thought process, and did not display any signs of psychosis. Smith invested a lot of effort towards not being degraded or manipulated, which caused her to have a mistrusting view of the environment. In addition, she had an inflated sense of self-involvement and personal worth, which also influenced her perception of her environment. However, due to frequent self-inspecting behaviors, she may have found it difficult to obtain and maintain meaningful relationships with other people. Specifically, she found it difficult to relate to others because her self-inspecting behaviors gave her a distorted notion of herself. Rorschach Interpersonal Functioning The results indicated that Mrs. Smith did not expect positive interactions with other people because she felt others would view her as distant or aloof. Therefore, she was overly cautious with her relationships with others, acted defensive in interpersonal situations, and felt insecure during challenging situations. Specifically, she was overly conservative in expressing her needs for closeness to other people, and relied on displays of information to maintain security within interpersonal situations.
