The purpose of an argument is to convince, to persuade, to lead the reader to follow a line of reasoning, and to agree with it. The chapter twenty in the Successful College Writing book shows how to read and write an argumentative essay. A good argument is made from some rules. An Argument must have an issue or an idea.
