Reflective practice means thinking about and evaluating what you do and discussing any changes which could be made. By using reflective practice and constantly monitoring the way in which you work your evaluation will give you pointers in how to make your activities more efficient. By making activities and sessions better teachers and teaching assistants will be increasing the childrenâ€TMs learning possibilities and standards. This is closely related to your own professional development and also the way in which activities are carried out with the children and whether the activities need adapting. For example, an activity that I completed with a small group of children was a maths intervention group for using long multiplication. The first time I tried this intervention group I started with a 3 digit number times by a two digit number. Some of the children understood this technique but not all were successful. This would most likely be after I had looked into the development opportunities that are available for example Team teach course, autistic methods etc. I would go to the Heads to talk to the about the courses and the benefits of my going onto one of the courses in regards to my development and what it would do for the school once I had the knowledge. This would most likely be a very formal meeting with these people as a decision would be made by them as to whether the courses are right for the school progression as well as my own. Finally not all support can be found in the school, for example I am currently doing my course for a level 3 Teaching assistant and so I have support through my tutor. This would be an informal communication about my development but would be another place to go to discuss my ideas of how I would like to develop and my tutor may be able to point me in the right direction in regards to
