In the 1930's, a vicious hate group targeted Germany's Jewish population. They were called the Nazis. The Nazis are possibly the most notoriously evil hate groups in all of history .Everyone knows who the Nazis are and why they did. What most of society doesn't know is why they were so evil. Often times what is most associated with the Holocaust is how the Jewish people were affected, but there is a lot more to it.
Racial Propaganda during the Third Reich One of the most central ideals in Nazi ideology was that of a continual attack against other races deemed inferior by Adolf, more specifically Jews. Racial minorities were used as scapegoats with which the Nazis blamed for what was wrong with the country on. In the speeches to the masses at Nazi rallies, they would start off by bringing up all the problems that they have been having, the depression, the Versailles Treaty, and any other hardship that they had experienced, and make the Jews the architect behind their ruin. The speakers would focus all their anger on the Jewish people and other minorities. Hate and anger seem to be key points in Nazi ideology.
But how did it become so out of control that approximately 6 million Jews died had to pay the consequences. According to Kevin Reilly’s psychology behind genocide three out the six elements can be applied to the holocaust. Rationalizing, or good reasons for doing something, Hitler convinced several Germans to hate Jews. His arguments included the Jews taking over their jobs, the assassination of one famous German, and for them causing the great depression. Germany was suffering from the after-effects of the depression in the 1930s.
Furthermore, Germany was held responsible for the war and therefore had to pay reparations for all d... ... middle of paper ... ...ism is determined to make that authoritarianism absolute, all-surpassing, consolidating the state as the new steel-like instrument of power.” The German people tolerated these actions because they felt that Hitler and the Nazi party would bring Germany out of economic ruin and back to the forefront of European affairs. Nazi doctrine of militarism, expansionism, and ultra-nationalism appealed to the attitudes and beliefs inherent in the conscience of the German people at the time. The German people felt that with the Nazis in control they could overcome the problems caused by the Treaty of Versailles. Nazi militarism would restore the armed forces to their greatest capability. Nazi mobilization would create employment and new economic opportunities.
The Program of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party was the instrument for the Nazis to convince the German people to put Hitler into power. Point one of the document states, “We demand the union of all Germans in a great Germany on the basis of the principle of self-determination of all peoples.” 1 This point explicates the Nazi proposition that Germany will only contain German citizens and also, that these citizens would display his or her self-determination towards Germany to the fullest.
Many religious conflicts are built from bigotry; however, only few will forever have an imprint on the world’s history. While some may leave a smear on the world’s past, some – like the homicide of Semitic people – may leave a scar. The Holocaust, closely tied to World War II, was a devastating and systematic persecution of millions of Jews by the Nazi regime and allies. Hitler, an anti-Semitic leader of the Nazis, believed that the Jewish race made the Aryan race impure. The Nazis did all in their power to annihilate the followers of Judaism, while the Jews attempted to rebel, rioted against the government, and united as one.
The Holocaust started beacuse Hitler wanted to attack someone for the reason that Germany lost the war and all of the grouped that Hitler picked were all brought on by sterotypes. He worked his way up he kicked more and more Jew out of goverment jobs, such as judges, lawers, and secertaries. The only way that they wouldn't have any power anymore. Many Jews were kicked out of there houses, so that t... ... middle of paper ... ...ups. The idea of the reason why he learned about the Holocaust in a whole is to be able to see and hear what Jews went threw and who there live had changed in a blink of the eye. The reason that we study about the war is to have the idea that Germany was winning the war and if it wasn't the allie power then the war could have been won by Germany.
Being that Nazi philosophy is essentially social dawanism targeted again the Jews and Bolsheviks, providing valid excuses and moral reasons for any attack on, or failure of the German race, the fittest of them all, against minority groups was a legitimate claim and justification for exclusion of these peoples. Hitler used racism to appeal to the pre existing bitter and aggressive side of German nature, thus securing his position as dictator and reuniting his people. Securing his position as the all powerful dictator, or Führer, is central to all of Hitler's policy decisions, be they foreign or domestic, and this was achieved through his, and the Nazi?s use of racism. Initially, Hitler used persecution and hatred of minorities such as Jews and communists to identify his sympathizers and supporters throughout the Government and general population, mainly young people and big business, and utilized this power, and appeal to secure his position as chancellor and later president of a united Germany.
It is hard to picture that along with others that, 6 million Jews were targeted and killed during the Holocaust. It is astonishing to realize how racist and cruel the Nazis acted towards the Jews. According to A Teacher’s Guide to the Holocaust, once Hitler was in control of the German government “he translated his harsh feeling toward Jews into many policies and statutes which eroded the rights of German Jews from 1933-1939” (“Victims”). The anti-Jewish racist legislation passed The Nuremberg Laws in September, 1935. These laws made an extremely in depth Nazi definition of who was Jewish.
The Versailles Treaty is the root of all evil and had to be denounced. The Jewish capitalists and the Jewish communists are the mortal enemies of the German people. The Germans are a superior race destined to rule the World; the Fuhrer is infallible in all matters of life and death and the destiny of Germany is in his hands. The message was well received, Hitler was telling the Germans what they wanted to hear. Immediately after becoming Germany's Chancellor, Hitler started an extensive process of consolidating his power, using the stick and carrot method.
