It is how people perceive others and how they perceive themselves. Those perceptions affect their interactions. For most of us it is a lifelong process of learning and dealing successfully with diversity. (Diversity in the work place, Oregon.gov) If supervisors wish to see a high standard of ethical behavior in the workplace they must behave ethically themselves, exhibiting important dimensions of ethical behavior including loyalty, fairness and honesty with contribution to an environment that encourage ethical action. Code of ethics is and organization’s written statement of its values and rules for ethical behavior is good starting point for supervisor to meet the challenges to ethical behavior.
My hope is to always be an example, and being ethical is the foundation of setting a good example for others. The old adage, “actions speak louder than words” rings true in relation to ethics. I aim to show people what my moral principles are based on my actions. At times, it can get difficult because I might let emotions cloud my judgment, but after all, doing the right thing for the sake of others is most important to me.
Both writers discussing the idea of morality provide an essential opinion in the world. Their arguments not only teach people how to act, but how to treat one another throughout life. Morality allows people to be at their best, by forcing individuals to be accountable for their actions, and makes a person learn from their own mistakes. Through reading both these works, it is obvious that in order to have morality in the workplace, one must first have a strong personal moral ground. Morality is necessary in order to exceed in the professional world.

Influences on Moral and Ethical Development Moral sensitivity plays a vast part in my influences on moral and ethical growth. Moral sensitivity shows me how my beliefs can affect some other person. It also exhibits my decision making skill on what is best for my client. Research states that “Moral Sensitivity (moral awareness), as described by Rest (1994), refers to an individual’s ability to recognize that a situation contains a moral issue” (Holmes & Lincoln, 2011, P.57). Having the ability as a counselor to pinpoint that there is a moral issue requires the realization that your activity can be harmful or beneficial for the client.
Introduction Ethics or rather morals entail mechanisms that defend, systematize as well as recommend conceptions of right or wrong. Many organizations develop ethical codes to ensure employees and employers understand the difference in doing good or bad. In that respect, ethics are an essential aspect of successfully running of any organization or government. Ethics ensure employee’s productivity levels are up to the required standards. It also assists them to know their rights and responsibilities.
Examination and critiquing of moral beliefs and practices involves investigation on specific norms, behaviors and behaviors, then judging them to determine if they are mutually contradictory.
