This is the essence of a good business analyst’s moral code—always thinking what will be in the best interest of my client? How can I best meet their request in the short and the long run? The market should be able to select for analysts who adhere to this code. Businesses will recommend their services to others in need. The business analyst’s role requires a consistent ethical standard of conduct in a way that other positions do not.
I feel managers should be willing to coach people when necessary to raise them to a higher standard. I’ve witnessed good leaders at my job give great instructions and guidance and made employees feel comfortable enough to come to them for any type of question or concern. You should always be ready to provide direction when needed to ensure that everyone is on the same page. A good leader... ... middle of paper ... ...est for the entire office. I don’t believe all bad bosses are necessarily bad people but I think they lack leadership skills that could help them and employees trust the situation or help productivity.
My boss would apply this strategy to be more effective in her leadership among her subordinates. Because most of the time she fell short in leading her employees, she always focuses on the people rather than the behavior. In addition, a simple “thank you” would be pleasant from her to hear. My family and friends could benefit too to become more effective in dealing with people on their perspective profession and be a better person. I would definitely recommend this book to my family, friends, bosses, co-workers and people I deal with because it is not only encouraging but also it demonstrate high degree of respect and value to other people.
Our staff is taught that it is an honour to work in each separate community and that they must serve that community in return to the best of their abilities. The Pick n Pay employees pride themselves on keeping their values and commitments to the people they are working for. New employees are taken through an induction process which is led by in store trainers who also welcome new employees and will remain a person for that employee to talk to if he/she has any queries or is in need of any help. How are Ethics implemented at Pick n Pay? Pick n Pay values ethics as it is important to stay honest with customers even if it does not benefit the company as having a good ethics code gains loyalty from the customers.
A companies decisions effect its employees, costumers the environment, and even the community, so decisions should not be taken lightly. It also becoming more obvious that managers feel that trustworthy employees with good worth ethics are an intangible asset to their company. Managers will not receive such employees if they do not have high ethical and moral standards themselves. I think that people ultimately want ethics that will produce a productive and honest workforce that also increases profits.
If I am practical I would say that the business of my dream company should be accounting or auditing because I have more practical knowledge in this spheres. My ideal company is stable and constantly striving for success but not at the expanse of the community’s welfare. The employees are the heart of every company in my opinion and my dream company must be a place where they are perceived as the greatest asset by the owners. It is also a place where a healthy work environment dominates and where employees are encouraged to continue to self-improve. The owners of my dream company can expect loyalty from their employees and continues efforts to exceed their expectations.
If I was in the situation presented on the essay, I will strive to follow the ethical guideline that all entrepreneurs are expected to follow by the general public. Even though it could cost the company revenue in the short, the company will benefit from being ethical in the long run. The first thing I will do is to tell the customer personally about the regulatory situation that the company faced in regard to the regulatory hurdle. I will not let a former employees give the customer information in behalf of the company. A lot can go wrong for an entrepreneurs, so it important to be open with a major client.
For example, when we have a job in a firm, we need not only do our jobs perfectly, but also need get along well with our colleagues and boss in order to avoid some troubles. Some people might say that definitely are not true friends, but I believe that as long as we manage these with care, that would be the true friendship. These friendships will help us and benefit us a lot, but they are not like the normal friendship we got, it will take more substance compared with the normal one. Anyway, we need them all in our life. Anais Nin had said “Each friend represents a world in US, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.” I am convinced that friendship in any situation is important, even though sometimes we have controversy about
I also feel an obligation of loyalty to those I have befriended in the mailroom to look out for their best interests. My employer trusts me to do what I am instructed since that was the reason they hired me, but my friends in the mailroom also trust me not to do anything that would negatively affect them. It hardly seems fair to reward three of my friends who h... ... middle of paper ... ...the scope of their job description is a desirable situation. After following this process of justification, I have not altered my opinion of the original moral rule derived from the discovery process. I feel just as strongly that it is my duty to write and implement the program as requested by my employer which would increase the efficiency of the mailroom regardless of the impact on my personal relationship with the other mailroom employees.
Employees need to be able to share their ideas and not feel like they will be punished for doing so (Edmondson, 1999). Obviously, individuals that work for non-profits do not usually do so because of the benefits or the compensation. However, I still think that it is important to make sure that we are serving our employees in the best way possible to make sure this is an environment that they would want to stay. This may entail looking at the compensation packages of the staff, and looking for ways to give small but meaningful benefits to volunteers. I believe that the single most important factors turnover is making sure that the individuals that serve the organization are well
