My submission for this content area is the Declaration of Professional Practice, which was completed during SPE 567, and demonstrated the documentation process of services provided by a BA. The Declaration of Professional Practice was developed to provide practice with the development of a contract that could potentially be used for a Behavior Analyst (BA). The assignment had us consider how we could best serve our clients by providing them with the necessary information prior to embarking on a professional working relationship, what to expect from a BA, and how services will be documented. The documentation process actually begins prior to the start of services. The first step begins with the BA providing verbal information to the consumer. Ongoing documentation must continue to be sent to the insurance company, per their requested schedule, in order for the service coverage to be extended. Only services which are considered medically required will be covered by insurance. This can only be accomplished by providing the documentation of all aspects of the behavior change plan.
