Essay On WWII

666 Words3 Pages
WWII began in 1939 with the German invasion of Poland, in the U.S, we were supplying the Allies with weapons and supplies but we were neutral from 1939 to almost the end of 1941. But then on December 7th, 1941 the japanese attacked Pearl harbor and a day later we declared war on Japan and Germany. Fast forward a couple of years and it’s August 6th, 1945; D-day was a success, Island hopping got us close to Japan, Hitler is dead, the European conflict is over, and Harry Truman has decided to drop the bomb on Japan, the Enola Gay dropped the “Little boy” bomb on Hiroshima and 3 days later, Boxcar dropped the “Fat Man” bomb on Nagasaki, 5 days later Japan surrenders and WWII was over. But I want to see what happens after the war and see all the effects that happened after the war for the U.S. There are many different effects of what happened after WWII for the U.S.A. Firstly, what are the social effects of WWII for the U.S. Some relationships got better, and some got a worse. For Japan, yes they were devastated by the bomb and that the Allies were there soil, but with the singing of the San Francisco Peace Treaty the Allies were out of Japan and they became Allies with the U.S. For the Allies, it was the formation of the U.N (United Nations), the U.N is the group of representatives from most of the countries that decide on the (as I call them) “world rules” and was formed in 1946. The only real bad conection is to the U.S.S.R it which started the Cold War and the fear of being eliminated by the Soviets because with Germany, they just accepted it and let the country split into two, in other words, they were so crippled that they took both the Allies and the U.S.S.R as crutches. With the starting and ending of relationships from... ... middle of paper ... ...i with Pearl Harbor, the rest of the war for us was fought around the world. There are many social, political, and economic effects of what happened to the U.S after WWII. Most relationships got better but some got worse. Both presidents had tough decisions to make but in the end everything was good and homes were being built. Also many men, trees, and other natural and human resources were gone from the war. After the war, the U.S.A and the Soviet Union remanded as the worlds superpowers (pretty much the biggest countries in political and economical sense) in which they fought in the Cold War. In my thoughts, with only one attack on our soil and having a very strong military after the wars ready for the next conflict, I think that the U.S got the best end of the aftermath of WWII stick because almost everywhere else was either invaded or had something destroyed.
