The Kruger National Park (KNP) is a National Park that is nearly 2 million hectares and is located in Mpumalanga, the northern part of South Africa and on the border of Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. The KNP is home to 336 trees -, 49 fish-, 34 amphibians-, 114 reptiles-, 507 birds- & 147 mammals’ species and has a rich history and many archaeological sights. In the 1898 the KNP was established to protect the animals in the Lowveld. In 1902 as the Anglo-Boer war ended and the British won, they assigned James Stevenson-Hamilton to protect the animals from hunters, poachers and cattle farmers. In 1927 the KNP was opened for the first time and only 3 cars entered. Ever since 1950’s research unit was staffed with different kinds of scientists the KNP was managed a little differently
Transportation:
Air, Bus Shuttle, Car Hire, Coaches, Packaged tours are the different kinds of transportation you can use. You can fly to the Skukuza airport in the KNP or KMIA, Also from the airport cars can be hired. You can drive yourself then to the various rest camps and on your way you can enjoy the most magnificent wildlife sightings

- Berg-en-dal: Berg-en-dal does have chalets but is not like the traditional rondavels; these chalets are square and have a paved braai area. Recently Tourism has been recognized as a major drive or a contributor to the economic growth and the development of any country, especially the less-developed and developing countries. Tourism plays an important role in the economy of the countries, be it less; developing and developed country. It contributes to the economy in many ways, for e.g. creates jobs, poverty reduction, backs to the GDP of a country, enhance multiplier effect and economic linkages, etc. (Vanegas and Croes, 2003:14). In this essay I am going to elaborate more on the importance of the tourism as a factor and contributor to the economic growth.
