According to OXFORD DICTIONARY, tourism defined "as the business of providing and arranging holidays and services for people who are visiting a place". A hundred years ago, tourism is only for the aristocracy or those from a wealthy family to enjoy travelling and leisure activities. but with the revolution of technology today, everyone are capable to travel and willing spends their money for a leisure satisfaction. Even now, information and technologies, ITs have certainly become one of the most important elements in the tourism industry. There are a lot of ITs feature that can boost up tourism industry like social network, Global Distribution System (GDS), travel documentary, and so on, but I want to touch one of the ITs aspect that can effect toward tourism industry both in positive and negative side which is advertising media.
Advertising media are become one of the trend today whereby a lot of promotion or places of attraction are being advertise through a picture, video and also in the movies or games. These are the three type of advertising media that I want to discuss the positive and negative effect towards tourism industry. For positive ways through a pictures, instead of reading a text on a pamphlet, brochure or flyers, travellers today prefer a choice with more convenient, efficient and more attractive. With the high speed of internet today, advertisement through a web and social network like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others are more attractive as if a lot of pictures being posted and picture forms of advertisements not only feature the tourism destination, but also communicate characteristics, concepts, values, and ideas about the destination (MacKay, 1997). ...try through commercial ads. I was so excited with the beautiful nature view and also extreme activities provided there. Compared to a virtual experience, reality is much more amazing as I was being there about two weeks and I never felt regret about the ads that influence me to travel there.

As a conclusion, Information and communication technology, IT's has increasingly gained importance in marketing of the tourism and travel industry. Advertising media have literally become an integral part in term of promoting tourism and also its component which is accommodation, food and beverages, transportation, merchandise and activities/attraction. It is crucial to use the most effective forms of media to advertise tourism destinations in ways that are creative and attractive to consumers because their behaviour is complex with different demographics and psychographics.
