Unbroken Review In the movie Unbroken directed by Angelina Jolie shows the highs and lows of Louie Zamperini 's life. Released on Christmas Day of 2014, Unbroken will make viewers go from happiness to horror to relief all within two hours of the film. This movie shows the true struggles of what Louie Zamperini had to go through in his life. Unbroken will touch your heart; it is an amazing story about a strong hearted man. Louie Zamperini, an American Olympian runner who was set to compete in the 1940 Olympics’ in Tokyo was cancelled because of World War 2. During the filming she did not eat during the set to make the actors that had to lose weight for their roles not feel bad or hungry. Angelina also did all of the stunts before the lead actor Jack O’Connell did to make sure that they were safe and manageable (Battersby). I feel Angelina did a great job at showing Louie’s hardships and life during war. I believe her pick of Jack O’Connell as the main actor was a very good decision. This was his first big role as an actor and he did an amazing job devoting himself to being Louie and going through what someone else had too. However, the film was confusing at times to keep up with the story. One second we were watching when he was younger and the next he was fighting for his life. I felt as if they just started from when he was younger and worked all the way through his life it would’ve been more interesting and easier to keep up with. Also, she had changed a few scenes from what had actually happened to either make it more dramatic or to shorten the time of the movie. I felt she should’ve kept all the scenes the same to keep the realness to it all. In the movie, the settings and scenes were beautiful to look at. Angelina had a good eye on where she was filming even when the scenes were the barracks for them men to live. For this being her first film, I believe she did a very good on showing Louie’s life and will learn from this film for her future
